It's just easier to create hype around and market new models. If brands only updated once every two years their sales volumes would drop as there are still consumers who go for the yearly upgrades

Even iPhone 12 looks better, taking in consideration the price. Although the iPhone 12 has average battery life compared to the 13.
Apple released iPhone 14 maybe to make people buy the Pro models this year.

For one thing the executives at the top of the company that is hiring are far more likely to be using an iPhone themselves than a zenfone and are more likely to choose the iPhone given the choice. In any case, don't think it's a good idea to judge a person by their choice of phone. The right phone for anyone is the one they're happy with

Sensible person: No headphone jack, no sd card, only 60hz, poor battery life, no telephoto camera given this price and list goes on

If I was conducting an interview, I'd ask the candidates whether they'll buy iphone 14 or Zenfone 9. Ones picking iphone 14 will be rejected immediately because it shows their extremely weak judgement and cannot be trusted with any job.

No need to get this one. It's just waste of resources. no real advCan they stop release non upgrade phones every year. Better to release every 2 years. Same for androids..

But buying it as new or replacement for very old iPhone, it's still excellent experience for sure. Even at this price. Again, software support is just something you don't get on any other phone and that alone is worth the extra cost easily. At least for me.

What good are all the big numbers on paper when 90% of phones have absolutely atrocious software support? That's always a point for me where I don't care if phone has the best specs in the world because I know it'll be garbage with long term software support. And something Apple has been consistently offering for 5+ years since iPhone 3GS... And like I always say, you can buy any iPhone that's not SE and you're guaranteed to have very good experience, without watching a single review. Seeing how inconsistent all Android phones are, even at higher price points, you can't ever claim that for pretty much any Android phone.

But would you pay for $1500 12gb 256gb iphone with 120hz qhd+ oled display, ultrasonic fps, centered punch hole front cam with ois, same rear cameras but with periscope lens instead of 3x optical, usb-c, 5000mah batt with 67w charging?

While I complain vanilla iPhone 14 is not exactly sensible option if you already own a relatively new iPhone, but iPhone 14 on its own is still a very good phone by itself. It still has the hardware that will stand test of time easily despite having 60Hz display. And it's a balanced complete package. If I had to buy new phone now, I'd probably still take it. My current experience with software support is so good that I'm much more inclined to go with iPhone than with anything else. 60Hz display is the most petty complaint Apple haters constantly cling on like it's the single most important thing ever. Newsflash, it's not.
