I'm interested to see the Snapdragon G3X performance and how it compares against the 8/8+ Gen 1 and 888/888+.

I have capable phone, with dedicated controller and plenty other controller like xbox one, but i find myself using Vita and 3ds more than a phone.

Nothing beat comfort of having dedicated gaming device, controller+phone sound good on paper only, try playing games for hours you will understand.

What is a waste of money are foldables like the Z Flip and Razr due to the fact that they are fragile, not to mention completely useless as well. The foldable ones will die out faster than the headphone jack.

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2022"gaming" on a phone is a joke "cloud gami... moreWhat are you actually on about?

Mobile gaming is awesome, I run all sorts of emulators on my phone, all I need to do is pull it out of my pocket and I'm gaming. Runs games at up to 120hz, the switch can do th... Oh wait. Also the switch is weaker than my phone with worse battery, can't run streaming apps unless you basically root it, my phone has them all in HDR so far supirior entertainment system with better quality image and far better battery life that can charge in a 10th of the time. Also no windows on the switch its just an underpowered android tablet (I love the switch but it's poor hardware at best now). The steam deck, other windows based handheld and this are all useable PCs with modern laptop grade chips so can be used in a multitude of scenarios, again the switch can't and these cheap Ali express emulation boxes barely play the games on them nvm anything else.

Cloud gaming means you can basically use any device from $100 tablet to your phone, TV, laptop or 10 year old devices... anything, and game. If you use nvidia's gforce now then you get a useable gaming pc at 1080p 60fps for free on a laptop from 2011 (my partner currently does this, it can't really game natively because of its age but with cloud gaming it's basically an xbox series s/X).

2g isn't used anymore from my understanding, I'm sure 3g is being eased out and neither are strong enough for Internet connection or online gaming so that's not working. My 5g connections get less than 20 ping and 200mb speeds and that was when I was living on the edge of a village and currently a town in the hills with dead spots everywhere, worse case it automatically drops to 4g that's 30mb+ just to my phone. Having stable on a wireless device is completely needed and important to gaming and streaming.

I welcome all the positive and improvements as a now part time gamer and full-time nerd 👍

Dedicated handhelds/consoles like a Switch are a waste of money. The future of gaming is on mobile since our phones are always with us. Many Android smartphones can pretty much emulate systems up to 8th generation already. That's 3DS and Switch. I'm fine just up to PS2 and GameCube.

Whoops up on a steamdeck and it's much more power efficient.. wifi 6 and 5g modem, it's ultra portable powerful and sounds amazing! I'm guessing it will be $6-799 much like a flagship smartphone.

"gaming" on a phone is a joke

"cloud gaming" is an even bigger joke

I can do this myself with a switch

these things like the steam deck are so pointless that getting random handheld emulation stuff on aliexpress carries more meaning. are you gonna use your steam deck at starbucks or the drive thru at fast food? no you're going to play it at home when you don't want to sit in the computer chair. you could spend pennies compared to the msrp and have a better setup overall.

5g makes little difference to ping when 4g is a playable 65 to 70ms and the stability of 5g is awful. I'd rather take the random 20 to 30 second drops that are just long enough to lag you out of a match, than be even more pissed it happened on 5g that's supposed to be "so good". It happens on every device, on every level of connection, from every single service provider, so honestly just give me 2g for gaming, ping is still 75ish on it. you know what, what am I talking about? the computer you stream locally from would have an ethernet connection. it would just be input delay, and that's always fun. like the 30ms from wireless controllers isn't bad enough

devices like this just prey on the technologically illiterate. as a nerd and an unironic gamer that still cares about the art of gaming, this offends me.

inessylviaColmek , 29 Sep 2022so, no update on new razer phone then.A razer phone 3 with SD 8+ Gen 1 and controller attachment would be good

inessylviaColmek , 29 Sep 2022so, no update on new razer phone then. Both the Razer Phones probably didn't sell much, which is why they stopped making more.

It's not just Razer either. Most dedicated gaming phones will have a tough time selling much these days. That's because every flagship & upper midrange phone is a potential gaming phone (good specs, 120hz large display, stereo speakers, large batteries, etc). So outside of the tiny fraction of people who like RGB lights on their phones, very few people will choose "gaming phones".

super hyped for this, even if i have many gaming phones, its refreshing to see razer back in the mobile market, but in a different way. Can't wait to see the full reveal (and pre order hahah)

Could be interesting with at least 12GB ram, ssd storage 512gb and weather sealing so a single drop won't destroy the toy.! If not, then a game pad for the phones is a better option.

That Gaming device... the only good thing is the processor. I want to see the specs of it.
I heard rumours that is only X2 and A710 processor. No small core in it.

So you want me to use a locked-down AndroidOS handheld, which is not pocketable, poor battery life, isn't that great when it comes to performance, doesn't have any AAA-games, needs a subscription for third-party cloud gaming, and it costs USD $500.

                                    Hard Pass.
The USD $150 Retroid Pocket 3 is a better option.

But I'd rather buy a Used Samsung S10+ for $200, and get a $50 Razer JungleCat. That's at least a pocketable solution, and it'll play all the Android Games and Streaming you throw at it. It can even do all your emulation from the first Atari to the latest Nintendo Wii titles. For those interested, it has lots of custom roms, still getting software updates, supports a $50 Samsung Pro 512GB microSD card, and pairs well with good headphones using the 3.5mm headphone jack.

knowing razer and how expensive they sell everything, I don't want to imagine how expensive this will be! What difference is there from taking a 200 dollar tablet and putting it under control and using it with a game pass in this fashion that is emerging? to get more money from people

so many gaming device, but no camera device with compact as phone and cheap price like gaming phone.. no need best AMOLED, radio, dual sim, big battery etc just android phone with best camera without buying $1000 flagship.
