Optional, 06 Oct 2022What other phones? Oh you mean those on Android. Right, but... moreIt's also how results are delivered. I generally don't care if it's 60Hz or 120Hz for as long as viewing angles are great, it has great blacks and accurate color. When I snap a photo an view it, refresh rate means nothing, but the rest very much does. Which is why I always say high refresh is a nice to have, but I really don't care if I don't have it yet.

Optional, 06 Oct 2022What other phones? Oh you mean those on Android. Right, but... moreHow the hell 6 years old phone iPhone is more fluid than recent flagship? That's a big lie. Look, like it or not, 7-6 years old iPhone will even lag behind 3-4 years old android flagship, they too will need an upgraded hardware. Now, about android and iPhone, I would clearly defend android. Why? Because it's open source. You can literally build it your own, maintain it your own, and don't have to rely to a big corps once things go sideways. You can improve it yourself, made it secure yourself, contribute back to community, unlike buying apple product, you literally just hand over your money and say you want to be their slave because you have to rely on their support. Rule #1 on android: buy product that allows you to unlock its bootloader once its support has ended. #2 choose one which adores to gpl v2 kernel. #3 made your own os, contribute back to community.

Rosso, 06 Oct 2022Not sure why you replied to him, he defends Apple at any co... moreWhat other phones? Oh you mean those on Android. Right, but how can you compare iOS and Android like they're the same when they are not. IOS was always way more fluid then Android on any flagship, so what other phones lol? People are comparing Apple and all Android phones since forever, but is it really fair to compare them as they're the same? Didn't you heard all those stories about 5-6 years old iPhones are more fluid then a brand new Android flagship? Average buyers of Apple products will never even care for HRR and those are the majority of people buying iPhones in the first place. Sure, they have geeky fans too, but those are rare compared to Android users because in Android world there is so much of competition going on that OEMs have to "reinvent the wheel" with every new model so people will think they are getting something new and so much better. So there you go, your argument about other flagships is valid to some degree for sure and I respect your opinion but I just feel it's not fair to compare them like they're the same when they are not. Both systems have their own advantages and disvantages but it seems average Android fan is focused only on negatives because of the sake of argument I suposse.
Just my two cents.
Peace out!

Do people here realize benchmarks only utilize the peak clock speed over 1 core? While your phone and you yourself are basically only using the mid to low frequencies in tasks/gaming....

Obviously techsites have them already.
Gsmarena updated specs list and periscope was reduced from 1/2" to 1/2.55".
That is something 30% smaller, to make it 120mm instead of 104.

CargoJoe, 06 Oct 2022I'd like to see what people use with their super bench... moreWell, it's nice if it's super snappy and generally speaking, all phones with high scores in benchmarks work that way.

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2022Many phones with 8g1 score over 100h.
I doubt 7 Pro is ... moreI have a Pixel 6 and turned off the 90Hz because I don't need it. Yes I can see the difference between 60 and 90, but still don't need it as I didn't need it for 10 years of using touch screen smartphones. And I'm still haven't go blind. Lol.. Anyways... I don't find those GSM Arena battery testing very accurate, not even close. For example my Pixel 6 when I first got him his battery didn't last for a long time, it was barely a day with 4h SoT. But, we have some kind of a AI learning voodoo magic in here and that measures how often and on what I use my phone, so in other words battery is forming after my personal use and needs.
After 2 weeks tops I was having a completely different device who could last for many more hours even surpassing my wife's Galaxy S22+ which has endurance rating of 97h. I know that's not great by any means but it sure doesn't go so bad as 86h GSM Arena team testing. I really can't be sure but I assume Google is not the only phone maker doing this, so maybe those couple of days of testing or one week tops is not enough for today's phones with so much AI involved. Just my two cents.
Peace out!

The benchmarks are mostly synthetic rubbish.
What is important though, is that whether the new ISP and Neuro-engine translate into better photo and video, and whether AI improvements help GMS in faster and smoother accessing services. Everything else sounds fancier than it is.

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2022Because they can now since apple has now 2 SoC
One from la... moreThat's almost irrelevant since A15 is still so powerful despite being year old. Does it suck that you get this one in new model. Yes. But it's really just mental annoyance and not practical. Once you can get over it mentally, it'll be excellent performer for years to come.
Not so sure about Tensor chipsets which can barely compete with likes of Mediatek 8100. And for some reason I'm doubting that all the "Ai" magic is really that much better on Tensor chipset than it's on any Exynos, Snapdragon or Dimensity chipset. Google always makes it sound like others don't even have any machine learning segments in chipsets, but they do and seem to be just as capable.
