Of course one needs to compare crops, otherwise the resolution of the eye/display isn't high enough in order to judge the image quality. It's simply nonsense to judge the image quality of a 12 megapixel photo on a for example 2 megapixel display, if you don't crop.

No, the first four photos (One World Trade Center) that gsmarena has posted are approximately 1x, 3x, 5x and 15x.
The 3x image is definitely not good, but likely better than Google's previous 3x images. 15x seems to be impressive as the angular resolution is noticeably better than in the 5x image.
But the big problems are in the Golden Gate bridge images (you need to open the source as gsmarena hasn't posted all zoom settings): 2x looks partly slightly worse than an upscaled 1x photo, 10x and 15x have nearly the same angular resolution as 5x.

i dont see any better photo than current telephoto device, above 1x the quality looks the same compared to my oppo find x2 pro the 5 and 10x shots look like a regular telephoto shot nothing ground breaking

Google are saying they've been working on this shitty zoom since 2018 because people don't want to carry their DSLR.
Errrm.... I much rather carry my Fujifilm X-T4 any day than having to imitate a proper zoom of a real camera.

proof that 1 zoom camera is enough rather than using many and tiny sensors like samsung, less but bigger and more quality sensors are preferred

The first four photos are very nice. What I expect are 1x 5x 10x & 15x
at the 20x and 30x you can see the machine learning doing it's stuff.
Pretty impressive from only 5x hardware TBH.
