notafanboy, 10 Oct 2022Does it look like I care about your semantics?Except it's not just semantics anymore since the Sony Xperia 1 IV is getting a true optical zoom lens with an 85-125mm zoom range, and others will probably follow suit with similar lenses. Up until now it's been convenient for people to refer to telephoto camera lenses as "zoom" lenses, but going forward that's going to cause confusion.
My guess is that people are so using to calling telephoto prime lenses "zoom" lenses that phone makers are just going to have to invent a different term for true optical zoom lenses.

If they remove the charging port altogether it'll be better. Just that wireless charging isn't going to be good for the battery but port-less phones are the future

I personally don't like wireless charging and use the cable on purpose because it overheats the battery and degrades it faster. Not into forced obsolescence, so still using the cable to slow down degradation.

USB 3.1 is still faster than WiFi, Apple should stick to USB C, wireless charging is slow and inefficient, also is it really wireless if your phone has to be on the charging stand?

Same way circle cutouts are a stop gap till good quality under display cameras are finally made? Stop pointing out the bleeding obvious :/
And no apple will release USB type c devices in 2024 so they have 1 final year of robbing their customers and paying extra for their own lighting cables
