Unfortunately, I hadn't owned any Samsung or Apple device(will be getting an iPhone 4s) but all of my friends hold different manufactures flahships and one holds a Lumia 920 as well.
When he first show us his Lumia 920. We all were laughing at him "wtf man, why you had wasted money on such crap" including me but when it outsmart my other friends phones. I was shocked. The camera was like miles away for s3 and iphone 5's camera and that is why I buy phones.
Probably gonna buy one in near future or would be waiting for the next Lumia(s)..

iFans seems to be so green with envy… some people here have actually not used a Samsung phone in their life but still saying it’s not good. Some Nokia fans here are claiming that Lumia 920 should have received the award. But to all the people giving expert comments are the GSMA guys dense? Don’t they understand which smartphone deserves their awards? There is a reason why Samsung Plastic won over any other metal or glass phone and intelligent & intellectual people understands the real meaning of improvement, innovation and originality. They are not prejudiced or biased and their verdicts are made after lots and lots of research work and studying of each and every potential detail and fact. So why don’t we just accept the fact and move on! Again, there is difference between moving on and giving up, so I’m not asking any of the iFans or Sony Fans or Nokia Fans to give up. May be, I Say, May be S4 failed live up to the expectations of the masses which will leave this prominent honor for your preferred manufacturer next year. So impede yourself from singing dirge for your manufacture as they are not dead but acknowledge the verity nonetheless and the familiarity and knowledge of GSMA people.

Iphone: Don't know much about it so I won't throw my two cents here. BTW, will be getting an iPhone 4s shortly.
Nokia: Their flagship 920 holds the record of innovations. Pureview camera, optical image stabilization, floating lens, wireless charging. What's more, it's camera can't be beaten by iPhone 5 and even s3 not to mention some upcoming phones like Xperia Z can't even beat it's camera. So as many.

I like how the fandroids are bragging about their smartphone is the winner. Well, for some reason. I am agreeing that it is the BEST phone of the year. I frankly don't like it's design but it's display... like when you are touching the water's surface made me mad about it. I like that innovation btw hey, nothing is perfect right? I hate it when I saw my cousin's s3 just died suddenly :( That was very sad for her. Even though she was saying it was a great phone.
Now she owns Lumia 920 and she is like. OMG where were you Nokia lol. That is actually her thoughts and how she is using it. I love 920 as well haha.
The bottom line: No one knows what future is holding so instead of "Owhhh, here is the king bla bla" etc. Focus on TECHNOLOGY and advancements. Seriously, why don't you guys become tired of hating on an ELECTRONIC GADGET....

Well you said GS3 is full of innovations? Let's see which innovations apart from bigger display, bigger proc, bigger ppi etc. It's all about numbers, nothing really new. I am not a fan of any marks, but Lumia 920 have changed the mobile world in 2012 and all the others manufactures struggle to catch up in 2013: wireless charging, optical stabilisation, super sensitive display. these

Sammy became so popular that even if they start pre orders for s4 now before announcement . It will be sold like hot cakes . If Iam not over quoting even i phone may not have this privilege . Such is the impact samsung made on the market . Yes it is a blockbuster , but i still feel nokia 920 is attaining a cult status

[deleted post]The S3 beat even my Galaxy Note but the GS2 or the original Note with 4.1.2 will come close to the GS3 but still not gonna be totally compare the the GS3 expect for the design. The GS2 have a better design than the GS3 but for the screen ppi, camera, CPU the GS3 is the best.
