For ipads the same thing...they need to deliver by law charger usbC to usbC for all ipads (but the entry level) and so on

Main issue is the fact that it's USB-C to Lightning. Basically no one has chargers with USB-C output at home. If it was classic USB-A to Lightning, it would be way less of a problem.
