The sharp aquos zero 2 had a 240hz screen
Somehow a Japanese market smartphone had think in 2020

In 2022 the gaming manufacturers have only made it too the 165hz screen

If higher Hz is important the gaming smartphone manufacturers better catch up in 2023 or be ashamed of themselves for being so far behind on smartphones that can benefit from higher Hz screens the most

Sharp have been shipping 120hz phones since 2015. However most of them are japan exclusive ones

you have to suffer, 17 Oct 2022but it drains battery though. you'd still use 60hz to ... moreAdaptive refresh rate also is a great feature, helps with battery life. Static image doesn't need a higher refresh rate.

I can totally understand the benefits of higher refresh rate displays, but I still want QHD+ resolution or 4K with over 500PPI on a format larger than 6 inches. If you can't tell the difference from FHD to QHD on YouTube, you need a visit to the doctor most definitely a better phone.
What's the point of having 120 or 240 refresh rate if you are using the same pathetic display resolution as the low-end phones?
FHD on anything larger than 5.5 inches is unacceptable and only tech illiterates will accept it. Also, paying 800+ on a phone with FHD is just a slap in the face of customers.
Yeah, the display is smooth as butter but blurry as f..

they didnt even bother to include sharp aquos zero 2. which it has 240hz display

It had a True-4K di... moreThe 1080p@120fps may be a placebo since it would be noticeable and it doesn't work on Lineage OS. It was likely hidden and disabled because it doesn't work. Here's a quote on the article titled "[Update: More Devices & Information] The Sony Xperia XZ Premium has a hidden 120Hz screen mode like the Razer Phone".

"According to various members of our forums who tested the build, the results are inconsistent. Some say that it works, while others say it’s nothing but a placebo. Personally, I think if it worked, it would be very easy to notice. Perhaps AOSP doesn’t support high frame rate displays natively and instead requires additional patches to the framework. One tester who flashed a Generic System Image build of LineageOS 15.1 for the Razer Phone reported that the phone ran at 90Hz (the default refresh rate specified in that phone’s kernel), so I’m not too sure of the reason why it doesn’t work for the Sony Xperia XZ Premium."

I use Samsung A52 with 90HZ screen. After 60HZ it is really awesome. Will buy a phone with 120HZ next.

I can appreciate the higher screen refresh rate when gaming, it totally makes a difference when playing at 60Hz. However, very few game developers utilize such a capability as there are still lots of games that runs at 60Hz despite having higher refresh rate enabled.

As for everyday use, it's only 60Hz. I don't care about smoother scrolling. I care much more about the content I'm reading or viewing on.

What about the Sony Xperia XZ Premium?
It had a True-4K display, which was 60Hz, but there was a hidden setting letting you increase that to 120Hz. And that's a phone from Early 2017, making it the first on the market. But as usual everyone forgets about Sony.

And to not mention the Sony Xperia 1 mk 3, as the first display with OLED, Near-4K, 21:9, HDR and 120Hz, is a big omission from this list. Not defending Sony, but credit where due.
