SShock, 17 Oct 2022Many rubbish brands with bad software support that is.Don't know til you have experience with all of them. Sony makes some high quality handsets and they're doing 3 years updates now.

Finally proof in what I have been asking for months, if this current series is v8 or v9 based, and if Gen 2 is v8 or v9. Eveyone on this sight that answered claimmed they knew this chipset is v9 based and It's not. These specs prove it's still v8 based.

Ayy Lmao, 17 Oct 2022So this chip have the performance of the A15 bionic, a chip... moreUntil you see the GPU performance...
And at least, it's a year late in CPU now, not 3 years.
Also, some people said it can reach 5200 multi core score, Samsung is known for not delivering full performance.

PhoneFreak45, 17 Oct 2022Yeah this I know but seriously they need to stop focusing s... moreNew A715 cores seem to go in that direction, 20% more efficient and only 5% faster sounds like they really went out with power consumption first and performance later. If this is on top of SD 8+ Gen1 number, then it's pretty impressive. I just hope this will end up in European models, otherwise I can just scrape away any idea of owning Galaxy S23. Might just as well buy Pixel 7 Pro then and call it a day.

Ayy Lmao, 17 Oct 2022So this chip have the performance of the A15 bionic, a chip... moreYes... I also wish iPhone would be available with Android... And no, I am not "just an Android fan boy", I have got an iPhone from my company 6 month ago and it is quite unintuitive compared to android. And not the latest, I have used a Galaxy A3 with Android 6.0.1 for years.
So as Apple fans used to say at the first "days" of Android, hardware is not everything, the SW is more important.

I'm sorry for Samsung, but if they do not use Snapdragon in Europe, not going to bother with Samsung again. The Exynos EU version of S22 series is crap.

As some one pointed out, the chip is supposed to be running at 3.36 GHz, but in the bench it's running at less than 3 GHz.
So the final Geekbennch performance will be even higher.

PhoneFreak45, 17 Oct 2022Yeah this I know but seriously they need to stop focusing s... moreEXACTLY. Good performance means nothing if the phone gets lava hot and dies within 2 hours of usage

Because improved performance is only as good as the cooling solution you have in the phone. Which with a 11 watt chip like the 8 gen 1, isn't that great.
