SShock, 19 Oct 2022"Apple thought they can get away with anything." ... moreYour tireless Apple defending is boring. The iPhone 14 Plus is a bad offering, and that's why people don't want to buy it. Apple just copies the S22+ except that the S22+ doesn't use a 60 Hz screen and older SoC. Also, the S22+ has a 3x optical zoom.

So much so for plus model being a better version than mini🤣🤣

In my opinion, Apple will probably go back to just 3 phones per year. A vanilla Iphone, Pro and Ultra .

Lol, when Apple sticks to more of the same, everyone complains how they don't "innovate", but when they try something different, you again all complain how they want to get away with everything. They tried larger phone that's not Pro Max. If it won't work it won't work. Companies constantly try new things, not just Apple. Some stick, some don't. Remember popup and flip cameras? No one uses that even though we still don't have good underdisplay selfie cams. How come? Apple skipped this entirely, many jumped on bandwagon and did it and now they're all back to classic design. See?

Lol. It was expected in a way. Apple thought they can get away with anything. Maybe in the past they could, but in these harsh times, not so much.
After the Mini series poor sales, it seems like the Plus is on the same road.
Maybe this will teach Apple to not try to sell anything at any price. But, their nerve is quite high, so I have my doubts they will stop here. And they will probably continue to sell overpriced stuff.

Back to making mini phone? No.

            Drop the PRO moniker.

            Make 3 sizes. 5.4 / 6.1 / 6.7

Do not limit the storage / cpu / display. Keep the huge camera module on the max, the small one concentrate on more battery.

The SE refresh 3 years, and stay as the standard version.

Just in case, Apple use the same display as iPhone Pro series, I believe that iPhone Plus will be successful in sales.

If the standard iPhone 14's were priced $100 lower (14 at $699, and 14 Plus at $799), like how the 13 mini and 13 were priced respectively, I think they probably could've seen a fair bit more success. But because they're priced so close to the Pros that not only have a new chip but also the new island, people are just buying the Pro and Pro Max instead.

Since the 15 series is likely to introduce the island and chip to the standard phones, it's likely that demand for the 15 and 15 Plus next year will probably be a bit higher than the 14's - but if they keep the prices the same again, then the demand will be again impacted and people will just go for the 15 Pro, since again, that'll have the new A17 chip and probably other new features .

(The 15 Ultra is probably going to be $1200, so fewer people will flock to that compared to 14 Pro Max unless they make any massive changes to make it 'Ultra'.)

It's almost like when you offer a last year's chipset, 60hz screen, and meh cameras for 900 dollars or more, people won't be interested and will either spend more on a pro model, vanilla 14 or one of 13s, or a whole different phone all together/not even buy one.

At least it's clear that 14 Plus is doing its job of making Pro models look like a more attractive option.

Does that mean 14 Plus is selling less than 13 Mini did in the same time frame last year?

Maybe if they didn't have 3 other models that stand out more it would have sold more
The basic 14 has the size going for it and so does the pro but with better specs and then we have the pro max with the big size
What does the plus have? Nothing. Why did they think this would be a better idea than the mini?

                            Haha 😂
Apple technically played themselves out on Iphone 14plus. No one would want to pay as ridiculous as $900 on big screen with lesser specs whereas it's senior siblings are few dollars away

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2022I think mini iPhone should continue. There is lack high end... moreThere was demand for Mini, low demand true but existed: 14 Plus though i doubt there's gonna be any demand at all...
I think Apple should do a Mini again, go from 5.4" to 5.6" to ensure a better screen (btw put at least 90Hz in all models Apple c'mon) while keeping the size down, better battery etc

Who needs a 14 plus, when a 13 pro max exists? Same SoC, same battery capacity, same large screen, but with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and an extra camera, which is telephoto with a 3x magnification

notafanboy, 19 Oct 2022"The 14 Plus is the most useless iPhone this year alon... more14 kinda does but again there's 13, which can be found for 300€ cheaper price in my country. That's literally ridiculous.

UltraHD, 19 Oct 2022It's simple, no one wants to buy 1300€ iPhone 6,7"... more"The 14 Plus is the most useless iPhone this year along with 14 too."

I think the 14 has its place, but yeah the 14 Plus is definitely useless af, it shouldn't even exist.

Apple thinks that people can get away with 14 Plus having a large screen with 60Hz at $899. Whenever I look at the 14 Plus, I always think of the LG V60. When it was brand new, it cost $799 (which incidentally cost $200 less than the cheapest Samsung Galaxy S20) and also has a large screen with 60Hz just like the 14 Plus, and yet LG can give a headphone jack with Quad DAC audio, microSD card support, and 8K HDR10 video recording. Spend an extra $100 for the optional detachable Dual Screen case, and you get a flagship-grade smartphone with two screens for the same price as 14 Plus. It's a complete no-brainer, really.

P.S Nowadays, a brand new V60 can be bought bundled with its Dual Screen case for about $400 or $500.
