Digital zoom is the whole “dirty oil-painting” zoom you get when zooming on a phone without optical zoom. Digital zoom is literally the equivalent of zooming in on a picture on a phone to get a better look. Optical zoom is like using a whole telescope, with the actuall lens and hardware (and not SOFTware)

Photos look good when not zoomed. Very good even. When you zoom, blurry mess. The main difference between a real camera, and a computer generated phone picture.

Anonymous, 24 Oct 2022Again just 3.5x optical, we're in 2022 and they can�... morep50 pro with 3.5x optical zoom is pretty much on par with s22 ultra in good light and destroys it in low light or if samsung goes between zoom lenses like 8x. Samsung cant even use the periscope in low light, that's how bad it is. Samsung's sensors are too tiny they just bump fake mp.
