I used to buy an iPad to have around as a casual device. It was a no brainer at around $300.
But at $450 it's a device that makes you re-think that purchase and is it worth it. Seems like tablets have already past their heyday in marketing.

Not worth the price given the paltry upgrades and the price hike. Even giving base storage at 256gb would have been enough to persuade me to buy it, it feels like a refresh that didn’t need to happen and that they also put virtually zero effort into knowing full well the Apple masses will run out regardless and drop a minimum £900 on the base model

Except for kids under the age of 10 and those girls that ask for survey questions in gas stations in exchange for a pack of cigarettes, I've never seen anyone using a tablet. It's a dead niche because they're too big to use, too heavy, bad aspect ratio for videos and usually a lot worse than their smartphone competitors when it comes to features and processing power.
I'm not against them, some people want them and I understand that, but it's 3D TVs all over again. When they first come out, everyone bought one including myself. Now, nobody is using the 3D feature. I haven't plugged in the TV in 4 years I think. I do everything on my smartphone. Same thing applies to tablets, no matter what brand it is.

The only people who they could ever impress liberal zombies who hate freedom and love to be told what's good for them; what's "cool" and what isn't. Any critical thinker has always stayed away from iPhones and iPads.

In all honesty, Apple lost my respect after the iPad announcement.... Their was no reason to add a 5th tier to the iPad lineup by keeping the old push button iPad around for another year at full price.....then discriminating with software. Stage Manager could run on an iPhone X with A11 bionic chipset without a glitch. There is no reason to have all these different choices based on your socioeconomic status. And you always miss out on something regardless your choice nowadays. I’ll most likely keep my iPad cuz even if I buy the 10th gen model that just came out....no stage manager......Apple really screwed up with iPad.....it’s become so discriminatory. The rich get all the software features but the commoner gets a crummy watered down version of iPad.

If you want a base one, go for the 9th and save yourself a buck for you are practically getting the same thing.

The iPad 10 will flop hard because 90% of iPad buyers just want the cheapest one they can get so they will continue to buy the iPad 9. But I have a feeling that that was their plan all along. They will „milk“ (not in a bad but a reasonable way) the iPad 9 as the base and volume model for another year, wait for iPad 10 components to drop in price in the meantime, and then next year, they will announce that the iPad 10 now costs only $379 and discontinue the iPad 9. That’s close enough to the iPad 9 to sell in volumes, and closer to the iPad Air than the previous price, so upselling to that one is easier.
What would be even more Apple though is to just upgrade the iPad 10 to the iPad 11 and keep the iPad 9 for even more years like they did with the Apple TV and MacBook Pro 2012/2015.

But instead of doing it, they increased the price of previous iPads. They thought, people will think lets spend 80 pounds more and get the 2022 model😖.

Hello Life, 30 Oct 2022i had the first gen ipad pro.. It still is extremely useful... moreI went to OnePlus for a battery replacement and it was free (except the labour charges) Whereas apple will charge about $150 for the same for a phone battery
My point is that apple is very expensive when it comes to spares
