Flashback: Firefox OS burns down, KaiOS rises from the ashes

The winner of the browser wars tried to tackle the smartphone market, but that was a war it lost. From its ashes rose a new OS that now powers millions of phones.

I'd like to see android built for small dumb phones so it can be used as a secondary phone without completely putting the user out of connectivity. Nokia was, in past rumoured to be working on such phone, but that never made it out to the public

    Bought a Kai OS device once. It was a laggy mess of a phone. The hardware was ancient. Nokia 8110 4G was a disappointment for most part. Battery life was good tho but again, nokia ruined it with poor specs like they always do

      2010 is the year mobile gaming graphic surpass PS2 /GC / xbox picure quality.

      So many HD high graphic intensive game came in iOS , Android..

      Sadly FireOS wont get support from big game developer like Gameloft / EA..

        Kai OS seems to struggle on these feature phones for example Nokia it runs terrible so slow and a battery eater it seems to have lost some major applications as well maybe the death is near

          I can buy Firephone (Ah what a nice name I just coined) running FF OS in a second provided they just start making meaning. I want something more than the Android and iOS. I wish there were also Windows OS for phones, Firefox OS, Symbian OS etc available in the market. Symbian shouldn't have died :( It hurt like hell seeing Nokia casually buried down. Symbian ruled the world at some point.

              Nowadays there's no third choice.. It's either Android or iOS.

                  My mother had a LG with firefox.
                  It was way slower than any low end phone with android 2.3 + 0,5GB ram
                  Number of apps was too little, probably less apps than samsug app store.

                    No one seems to care about KaiOS anymore, especially when Google removed the ability to text via voice command on their Assistant app since KaiOS 3*.
