I actually would buy an Apple if it would be compatible with GNU/Linux world, stress-less, without their Omni-Music-Piece of Software. Such a tremendous shame that they mutated iTunes so much to deal with everything that music(or at least Media) isn't.

Simply poor choice to lock the device memory.

I even wish I could flash Android Phones as it's possible on a simple desktop : gparted all the way ! Too see the entire physical-block in all its splendor, the entire picture, to understand where the gremlins are lurking and even entirely get rid of them.

Rediscovering the wheel, so sweet. I bet they will rediscover the old Apple Home Button also ... (which was so great)

Android makers following in Apples footsteps? I think what you meant to say is that Apple is late to the party and following in HTC and Vivos footsteps. HTC U12 introduced pressure sensitive buttons in 2018. However, Apple may perfect the technology and it may work better than HTCs effort. When Apple introduces something "new" it's really rather old. Portless iPhone? Nothing new. Vivo introduced its Vivo Apex portless phone in 2020. Granted, it was not widely available to the masses since it was a concept but you get my point. Every idea Apple has somebody else had already thought of. They are just stupid enough to actually go through with it. Apple is but a shadow of its former self.

Aneither gimmick, cause Apple and Apple users need to feel special.

            >inb4 Just don't buy Apple.

I don't buy apple products , but I still have to live with their stupidity, cause every Android OEM copies something from it. Maybe Apple users need to shut up and finally understand why people bash Apple.

TheAlienNextDoor, 28 Oct 2022"Solid state buttons" hahahahaha oh thr marketing... moreExciting feature.. but how this will work under casing? For better or worse?

Or will you have to run it without casing.. or casing with cutout only works?

Is it meant to ignore unintended touch in the bag? Or running without a case cause it to be scratched more easily?

                      Many many questions..

Ok, they really want to make the iphone totally water proof i see that. No sim card tray, no volume buttons next, later no charging port (it'll be wireless) and so on until there's no point in which water/liquid might go inside....

solid-state buttons. you won't notice when touching them accidentally. only advantage is for apple which can cheap out the button mechanism which costs a few cents in production and can raise profit by charging 50€ extra for that new feature. what will come next? no more physical control at all and instead voice control for volume? "crapple, increase volume, please!"

I personally do not use volume button (and power one) very often. So, it is just a fancy feature for me, except it brings something useful, like TouchID or (well, I do not know)

had those on my htc u12+ back in the day and hated their inconsistency.

"Solid state buttons" hahahahaha oh thr marketing.

It's just capacitative buttons like Galaxy S1 to S7, but for volume instead of navigation.

And it's a completely horrible idea.

This sounds absolutely horrible. Don't get me wrong I love Touch ID, it was a good and it still is, works well and everything, but solid state volume buttons.. I just can't think of any possible way to make that good.
