Even so, majority will welcome getting Snapdragon for money paid. If this really happens. I'm not questioning, just kind of can't imagine it until I see it really happened.

Olympus Oms, 04 Nov 2022Show me 1 sd card with r/wr speeds on 2000MB. We are waiting I really don't care about micro SD card speeds. They're used for media (photos and videos) and it's those two that fill up internal storage VERY FAST.

A phone without out micro sd storage expansion is just ANTI-CONSUMER and WASTEFUL. Hybrid slots are another. They are such a stupid compromise if you are a dual SIM user and you record 4K videos and raw photos frequently.

A 1 TB Sandisk A2 V30 card is actually MORE THAN fast enough for 4K recording and media storage and SOOOO CHEAP nowadays - Just USD $120 for genuine cards that have that real 1TB capacity. (Beware of ultra cheap 1TB fakes though that corrupt after reaching 64GB because they're software manipulated to display 1TB but are actually only 64-128GB at most).

Cloud storage is NOT an option. Why pay forever, for a 1 TB cloud storage that compresses RAW photos and videos to the detriment of image and video quality and expose your personal photos/videos to hackers?

Cloud services should only be used for contacts and other files storage and for casual snapshots of low quality Facebook photos and videos. Besides, I don't see the point of a flagship 200MP ISOCELL HP1 camera in a flagship phone when you're just going to compress the life out of your photos and videos anyway because of limited internal storage or no micro SD card expansion.

A 1TB internal storage option is also an ULTRA WASTEFUL NONSENSE when they're at highway robbery prices. Besides, what do you do to excess internal storage when you upgrade to a new phone? Wasteful and anti consumer. Just plain GREED from manufacturers and no other valid reason.

SEUL8TR, 06 Nov 2022We love exynos, because it has more custom Roms than Snapd... moreFor those 5 people who buy Galaxy S model to use custom ROM's on it, no one cares, not even Samsung. They have no profits from custom ROM0's and their sales most certainly don't depend on sales to those 5 people either.

This is good news. Exynos chips are horribly hot and battery wasteful and don't work with GCam with Night Sight, and yet they cost the same as their Snapdragon counterparts.

They're actually what's keeping me away from Samsung's flagship phones (the Exynos chips), unless you live in the US. That, and the lack of micro sd card expansion, or the use of a stupid hybrid card slot.

eSIMs may make hybrid slots acceptable since you can now have 2 networks without SIM swapping and still have micro SD expansion, but they're not available in most countries outside the US, and if they are, they are only offered to postpaid customers (minority) rather than prepaid (majority).

just wait for processor overheating at early S23 phones lol.

Olympus Oms, 04 Nov 2022Show me 1 sd card with r/wr speeds on 2000MB. We are waiting Google crippled microSd cards by forcing apps to use an extremely slow API.
Google has been trying hard to hide the tickets but this one somehow remains: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/179412245

The workaround is to get apps outside of Play Store so you can grant permission "Allow management of all files." It won't have to use SAF anymore outside of the /Android directory.

The SanDisk 1TB card is rated 200MB/sec or 4000 IOPS reading, 140MB/sec or 2000 IOPS writing. That's not as fast as onboard memory but it's definitely usable for a lot of powerful apps.

I'm OK with not having a microSd slot as long as the phone has 1+ TB of storage at a reasonable price. So many "flagship" phones right now are dropping their storage to only 128 or 256 GB.

What's next after removing microSd and the headphone jack? A hot and expensive chipset with a permanently locked bootloader, of course. Don't worry, Samsung can disable some 5G features to get the phone's price under $1500.
