It's going to be a very long wait for Qualcomm to make a competitive desktop cpu.
The current top of the line 8cx G3 is only competing at the level of an i3 11th gen Intel. By 2024, we're looking at the next gen after Meteor Lake on 18A process node.
I don't see any compelling reasons to switch to ARM windows at all.

These could be interesting times for the laptop market. With ARM support getting better and better on Windows, new companies can enter. Not only Qualcomm, but also MediaTek and Samsung Exynos may make the jump. Man, I really want to see some more competition. With more cores and higher TDP, ARM chips may also be strong, and can be paired with some strong iGPU. Smartphone iGPU can be already strong, but with better cooling, more TDP and more cores, they may be stronger then AMD and Intel's mobile chip iGPUs

Standard ARM designed Cortex-X3 have reference design featuring already a 12 core design, 8 core X3, and 4 core of efficient A710 core.
They released this design not long ago, if they are going to pump out Cortex X3 SD 8 Gen 2 this january, they could release this 12 core ARM laptop CPU by next year as well, without the Nuvia design yet.

There is no way i take Qualcomm chip over Intel or AMD. It's just no way for me be it as good as it can be. Maybe 10 years in the future if they still be around at least then the bugs are known and dont need to live trough them. I just dont trust new chip makers for destop or laptop. They are not new to make chips but are new for desktop.

Qualcomms current Benchmark is APPLE M2 in mackbook Pro
2022 M2 MB Pro Geekbench Single/ Multi :1911/8990
Currently with 8cX Gen 3 they score: 1107/5897
Still a lot of catching to do
But since NUVIA is releasing in 2024, it's should realistically perform better than Apple M4 chip, which is a tall order.
Also, Qualcomm is using Intel 20A foundry process from 2025.

but its different os and different approach also in apple not only their chip is efficient but their os mostly fully optimizer for that cpu .you can says because their os is so perfect that make their cpu is so efficient .
now the question can apple cpu running other os(android) than ios?.....

you have to suffer, 07 Nov 2022when will qualcomm made 12 core cpu for mobile phones, 8 co... moreIdeally (in my oppinion), they should follow Apple's core layout (2 big cores + 4 middle cores), but to do this, they'd need to modify ARMs cores a little more than they already do (with Kryo which probably only makes a few cache and frontend changes). The Qualcomm-Nuvia core design is perfect to fit the role of these 2 big cores, but the problem lies in the 4 middle cores. No current ARM core is both powerful and efficient as Apple's middle cores.
In case you're not convinced this core layout is, in theory, perfect, the big core can be used for peak (burst) processing needs such as launching apps, etc... And can still provide incredible single-threaded sustained performance, incredible multi-threaded performance because there are 2 of these big cores + 4 also mildly powerful cores, and for mild-low sustained performance needs the 4 middle cores would be both powerful and efficient enough for such tasks.
