HTC must endeavour on its android for such exclusives.even if u go for a windows phone, there is nokia, the best at exclusives.what the hell will htc get for making a bunch of 'signature' devices for ms.lumia 920 gets updates every month from nokia, but there r no such things for htc wp.(now we can possibly understand why nokia didn't enter the cutthroat android competition-though i still fascinate a nokia android).even sony understands it can't beat samsung at android at any time in near future.so they recently announced to work upon firefox os to boost their market above their petty android share.htc must learn to give itself a different edge upon their work, products and advertising.

Mercedes sells it's S-class for ages so everyone knows what it stands for. HTC, take note!

htc phones are a way too pricey compared to samsung. Htc can go for a price cut for its one x+ as samsung has done it for its s3

There are so much things that are wrong with HTC that it will need 2 pages to fill them up!
I had till now 6 HTCs from all categories: Tytn II, Touch, HD2, Desire, EVO 3D and ONE X. I've also had for 1-2 month a HTC HD and Sensation. And most probably i'll buy a ONE, but + version (sic!).
The biggest problem of HTC's management is that they don't know exactly where to position themselves in the market and act accordingly to this. IS HTC a premium brand? Is HTC a mass brand? Is HTC a geek brand? They WANT to be all of this..and that not possible. Because you have to make compromises to do this (but to excel in one area) and the result, now, is that none will want a great phone that is just 2nd best in all the categories...but it's not 1st in anything.
There's Apple for premium brand, Galaxy series for masses and, why not, more developer friendly than HTC and Nexus series for geeks.
But, let's pretend that HTC has his own niche the premium android brand. Every flagship or major model of HTC in last 3-4 years is plagued by ad least one major flaw. Be it subpar battery life, sub-mediocre camera, non removable battery, tiny internal memory, yellow spots on the screen, bad WiFi signal, those are just a few of its weaknesses.
HTC wants to be the top hardware Android. So..they are in trend with the best technology available and whenever a new processor/screen/etc appears..they make a new model of phone. The result is that people, instead of acknowledging their efforts and be grateful that they have the best technology available, keep saying that they don't have a "proper" flagship to stick with it for ad least 6 months. So much models without a proper customer support is leading to customer unhappiness. In my country (Romania, Europe,22 million people), for example, there's ONLY ONE recognized repair/service center for HTC (for devices still in warranty period). So it took nearly a month to change a damn screen (yellow spots) and upgrade the battery for my HOX (with the one from HOX+, 2100mAh.
Another example of misunderstanding from customers is battery life. For 99% of customers battery size = battery life/endurance. People keep saying HTC has small batteries, HTC has weak batteries. NO, HTC has phones with low battery endurance. For example, HTC ONE X+ with 2100 mAh battery has shorter battery autonomy that HTC DNA with its 2020 mAh battery and better screen, better processors and newest software. But i'm pretty sure that HTC ONE will have a good battery life. Not great, but good.
Another endless discussion is about removable battery and micro SD card. The truth is than 99% of customers doesn't need them, especially if internal memory is over 32 GB. But, in the same time, people..just WANT TO HAVE THEM. And here HTC will lose a lot of customers, even that they don't need more than 32 GB or will never buy an extra battery for their phone.
The pricing..is terrible. HTC is marketed now as a premium brand, even on medium\entry level. And that is so wrong that even a kid can point at this problem. How on earth to have "premium" prices for an entry phone?!?! An entry phone is supposed to be CHEAP!
If you want to conquer again the market, flood it with premium phones at reasonable prices, give them unlocked bootloaderes, give proper software support for older phones, be customer "friendly" and give them waht they think they want ("bigger battery" "removable battery" and "micro SD card"). After all, with thsi strategy HTC had conquered the market with HD2 and when they were giving up at this strategy the results are those we are seeing now.

HTC marketing is really poor as well as their timing strategy.
by the launch of One, the two month old Butterfly will be outdated.
they need to concentrate on mid-range and low-end devices as well and bring the best with them, not outdated specs.

Next time think about s-off ing your devices.
              HTC will never learn.

Just trade your design guys with samsung for their marketing guys. Then you might see the graph pointing upwards.

As per my opinion, HTC is the most innovative cel phone company around us. but dus to some lacking they r doing well in market.
first of all they should become more concern abt their battery life. (I still dont undrstand, aftr the HTC one X's poor battery performance, how cound they put a 2000mah battery in a 5" giant butterfly???)

n they should b more concern regarding about their sense UI too. so typical ring start up n call receive feature should b chnage now.. thts really boring...

all other feature n performance of HTC is awsome...

ryt now using a one X...

Ramour, 07 Mar 2013Whatever people say whatever things I personally like HTC o... moreCompletly agreed. Plus proper strategic marketting and user communication about product releases.

Still poor marketting efforts from HTC.

Butterfly released a long back but people still are not sure if it is available in their country or not. Same is DROID DNA.

I dont feel HTC phones are anyway inferior but communication and marketting is letting them down. If they can improve, they will come in the fight again. And they have the masterpiece - The HTC One.

HTC: listened to customer.. and make phones.

Samsung: made tons of phones.. put whatever inside .. and hit and miss

Apple: make phone based on what they think customer will want

Rule: Never listen to what customer wants and give them.. because they do not know what they want.. so either make alot or copy the victor or do hardcore close door research.

Maybe HTC could benefit from the ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE marketing budget that Samsung has. They should try Samsung's tactic. Flooding the market and lots of advertising brainwashing people to buy their trinkets.
