19 November 2022
The One UI 5 rollout was already faster than last year's, but speed should be improved further.

Thats the only truth everybody needs to know.
Even those who plan to use their phone for very badśic things even a brownser will lagg a lot after 7 years of use.
You will have very updated brownser but doe to 7 years old hardware and a lack of ram your phone will be slower than a turtle with broken legs on a retirement.

(but I did even more) Hence good SW support is appreciated. A new one every year is really unnecessary imho, but OK simply everyone can choose on his own, what else to say more.

Economy or producing needs to slow down in order to slow down the climate change. (we're already in trouble) Supporting quick phone replacement (which is far from being necessary) for quick profit by OEMs doesn't seem to be the right thing.

AnonD-731363, 21 Nov 2022Man that cheap chinese phones gets 3-4 updates a year which... moreThose 3 to 4 updates on Chinese phones are simply quarterly security patches, which were required by Google to get certification. The OEMs basically don't have to do anything other than test and push it since the updates are provided by Google a month in advance to those OEMs. So the Chinese OEMs basically does close to zero in effort for updates. And I think it's fine since buyers will just keep buying new phones every year, as intended.

It's simply a choice. If you keep changing your phones on a yearly basis, no issue. If you are a person who like keeping your phones for longer, get Samsung. Even the cheapest Samsung phone will still get 2 years of OS upgrades. Simple, and I'm glad there's options for everyone.

Samsung just like Apple releases something every month. Something like bug fixes but thats all you usualy get.
                            Thats the major difference.
Chinese phones are cheaper and a lot better in my oppinion because for less price you get more specs.
Its nice to have 5-7 years of updates if you want to keep your phone for 5-7 years.
Since 80% of users swaps their device from their carrier in a 2-3 year basis on a monthly plan cheaper chinese phone with a lot more specs is way better to have than paying outrageous ammount of money for a phone which receives tons of bug fixes on monthly basis with every update but nothing new just a lot of bloatware inside.

Pure android experience is always best. Excluding google phone which cost also outrageous ammount of money for a midrange specs.

I guess people never learned with Android 12. Can't wait for the reports of their phone behaving erratically after installing Android 14 instead of postponing the update.
