SShock, 21 Nov 2022And why not? I've never heard a VW Golf user say "... moreFlat sides are alright and it's something that doesn't make much of a difference really. Just look at certain Chinese flagship phones. Totally a joke. One model introduces a design and then they change everything again on upcoming phone. Like wtf

I believe it's only for iPhone 15 Ultra to diferentiate it with the 15 Pro models.

Flat edges; as good as they seem, they're a nightmare for big-screen lovers because of impractical ergonomics. I generally prefer softer curves.

This design is to my liking. But with the actual models, there are different materials for the frames between the regular and pro models. So it's possible the titanium will be only available for the pro models, if it ever happens.

Daemon Targaryen, 21 Nov 2022Why? You want iPhones to have flat sides and back for the f... moreAnd why not? I've never heard a VW Golf user say "I want something so radically different I won't like it anymore". And so changes between VW Golf versions are so minimal you can often hardly tell them apart. iPhone is the Golf in smartphone world. And it's why people like them. It's easier to change between models with small changes than constantly have huge polarizing changes that will annoy a lot of people at once. It's like none of you understands how market and users work...

UltraHD, 21 Nov 2022Hell no, i strongly hope this rounded part is false. Why? You want iPhones to have flat sides and back for the fourth consecutive generation?
The iPhone 3G and 3GS had better ergonomics than the 2G, 4/4S, and 5/5S/SE1. It wobbled when put on a table but was much easier to grip. I remember dropping my 2G on concrete so many times being it was more flat and slippery like a bar of soap.
I miss the rounded sides from the 6/6S/7/8. Thank goodness I got my SE3 on a great deal at $150 brand new on OfferUp when I still see an iPhone 8 go for the same price being 4.5 years older. Apple needs to go flat or round every few years to change things up.

IPhone 5c design with fancy materials on iPhone pro versions, )) apple realised that pro max is exact same weight as Samsung fold!
- 6x zoom
- USB-C in September 2023 on iPhones
- better battery like iPhone 13 because 14 pro was a mess
Perfect expensive devices for special people!

Good news, flat backs are horrible for ergonomics. Wish that trend goes away soon.

I think iPhone 5c had a good compromise shape. It allows for maximum screen to body ratio (flat front and sides) while being comfortable (rounded edges towards the back). Something like the iPhone 6 or 3G would feel nice as well, but I guess they would not want to release a new phone with lower screen to body ratio, on paper, than the predecessor.
I would be very interested in how they would realize it. Would they curve the glass towards the sides, like the iPhone 8, or curve the metal towards the back to keep the durability advantages, which would be something like the Google Pixel 1 glass element maybe.
