Google Pixel 7a leaked renders showcase a Pixel 7-like design

It's no surprise really, given that they're theoretically part of the same generation.

Sebstin, 30 Nov 2022yes. Width also matters.. anything more than 70mm is too bi... moreand even new Xiaomi 13 it's growing from nice size of Xiaomi 12, so seem if you will want smaller phone in 2023, you are F-ed, this year you had at least Xiaomi 12/12X without major compromises like S22 (battery, slow shutter) or 6A (width, Google not allowing 5G in most of the world, which works fine after rooting), faulty Zenfones with crap updates and meh camera are not worth mentioning and that's it, oh yeah, you have also overpriced remote controls from Sony with meh cameras, so only option with decent camera, size, battery, reliability and updates was Xiaomi

Aan2007, 30 Nov 2022amazing, so 4a was under 70mm, 6a was already more than 71m... moreyes. Width also matters.. anything more than 70mm is too big to hold. Ofcourse 6.5" looks good but there is a market for compact phones too..

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2022Kinda makes the regular Pixel 7 redundant. Wireless chargin... moreScreens are possibly the same. Expect the difference to be like the 6/6a with that exception, it'll keep the 6a's cameras, and likely be 2GB less memory, possibly also only wired charge at 18w but I'd be surprised if that was the case... Well they seemed very interested in moving everyone to the 7 series, I don't think Google would completely destroy the base seven sales, plus there have to be cuts to drop the price to A levels...

Doesn't make any sense to pickup the 'A' series when the flagships are a few $$$ away. Without the headphone jack its not an 'A' series. Hope google learns this from their past mistakes.

I was expecting it to be small and have a headphone jack. I guess A series is dead and it's time to look at elsewhere. I'll probably pull the trigger on Zenfone 9.

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2022Luckily, iPhone 13 mini and iPhone SE are still being made ... moreThey run on iOS and I prefer Android therefore I can't pick them up. Otherwise they're good phones. Also, the mini iPhones, for some reason, lose battery health much faster apparently because most of the pre owned ones I find are about 85% battery health even in good cosmetic condition

Kinda makes the regular Pixel 7 redundant. Wireless charging is a meme anyway.

amazing, so 4a was under 70mm, 6a was already more than 71mm and 7a is almost 73mm, way to go to assure nobody who wants compact phone will buy this, dunno about you but my adult hand is not growing each year at least by millimeter

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2022Unless you have Linus hands, this is very much compact and ... moreIt isn't about hand sizes. I have big hands but prefer smaller phones.

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2022Compact phone is under 140 mm tall. This is over 150 so not... moreThe height is secondary. WIDTH defines the compactness of a device - the width should be less than 69mm.

One more thought... I'd prefer 60hz if over, 90hz if it meant keeping the old width. Disappointing change, but the rest looks like big upgrades.

Finally 90hz, this phone will be their best from A series.

The extra mm wide is concerning... This phone is too close in size to the Pixel 7. Something they really got right on the 6a after goofing so hard on the Pixel 6 size. This will put the 7a at the maximum width I'm willing to tolerate, but the 6a was already perfect in hand. Seems like a completely unnecessary change. I've pre-ordered all the a-series phones, but I may need to see this one in the store first if I still can't trade in my oversized 5a here in Europe.

PhoneFreak45, 30 Nov 2022Yeah but for that you'd want to use wired charging, it... moreWired charging is more "affordable" too. U just need to get the power adapter whilst wireless, u need both the charging pad and the adapter

Pixel 5 looks like the last Pixel to be a decent size for one-handed use. I still keep my Pixel 3 around just to upload tons of movies and TV shows on Google Photos. That was decent size too. Same narrowness as my iPhone SE 2022 but about 6 mm taller. Too many tall, wide, and heavy phones.
