The point is that someone had said the Zflip 4 had the camera of the s22. I had argued back, saying that the Fold 4 had the s22 camera, not the flip 4. I also had mentioned that the flip 4 did get a slightly improved camera, and said the only place it improved in was the performance in low light situations, which is true, and Samsung said it themselves. Now how exactly am I contradicting myself here?

I said it had slightly better low light performance, because that's exactly what Samsung said during their presentation of the fold 4, flip for, buds 2 pro, and watch 5 / 5 pro. They had said the flip 4 had "improved low light performance"
also, Samsung is not the golden standard in photography, and you know that. Phone reviewers AND professional photographers have said that Pixels have had the best photo quality out of any smartphone.

Here's a recap: "the only camera improvements Samsung made with the flip 4 is slightly better low light performance".
Liar, liar, pants on fire.
S10 to S21+, that is more than a two generational difference in camera sensors. A lot more than "slightly better low light performance".
Let's also remember that Samsung is THE industry gold standard for mobile photography. Year in and year out. So, it is a pretty darned good main sensor you get with the Flip4.

Anonymous, 02 Dec 2022At least 4 of my phones had a QHD display so when comparing... morebarely. unless you're looking super hard, you're not gonna notice a difference. plus, it sucks up battery life a lot more than FHD because its a higher resolution for the GPU to drive. its why i keep my personal phone at FHD

The ultra-wide angle sensor is however the same lower quality sensor on both the Flip3 and Flip4, though, the lenses are also slightly bigger on the Flip4, which means the photos are indeed a bit cleaner at the cost of not having a flush camera design. I would have preferred the Flip3 way on that myself.

Looks to be my next phone since that's always been my complaints with my Flip 3 and Samsung will correct them with bigger cover display, better battery life, and no crease. The camera improvements can come later.
I'm torn to trade in my Flip 3 for it. I'm still paying for it until 2024. We'll see. It's a tough balancing act because if they do increase the cover display, the overall dimensions might get bigger. It will stop being compact in our pockets. But this Flip 5 would definitely replace my Razr 5G and Flip 3 combined.
I hope they offer a 1 TB model so I can store tons of Dreamcast, PS2, and GameCube games on it along with a bunch of movies and TV shows which I couldn't really do on my 128 GB Flip 3. Like I said, we'll see. Every year, it will be improved. I'm patient enough to wait for the Flip 6, 7, 8, and up.
If cover display is in landscape, there are still issues using apps as they're built for portrait. And most people text and browse the web in portrait. Just keep that in mind because my experience with my Razr 5G's isn't ideal at 2.7 inches. This is why that Oppo Find N2 Flip is interesting and caught me off guard with the vertical cover display.
I'm actually trying NOT to upgrade as often so if the Flip 5 isn't all that, I can wait for the next one. I do like hearing this news because it means Samsung will improve the software. That means Flip 3 and 4 will benefit getting the same One UI cover display features that the Flip 5 will have except on a smaller cover display.
I can't use Samsprung any more since accidentally updating to Android 12 and CoverScreen OS is still buggy. I want an official Samsung software update that greatly improves the cover display's usage. By default, it's still mostly useless. I want to use a third-party keyboard like SwiftKey when I want to reply from the cover display.
I'm going to miss my Flip 3 when I trade it in. I found the perfect case for it. But I may just keep it around along with my 256 GB Razr 5G that's used as a movie/TV phone. My Flip 5 will just take over as my main emulation device, movie/TV phone, and daily driver.
