Your just talking about the chemical raw materials the implementation is another story and that my argument when you say batteries have remained the same which is untrue

And, battery tech has remained the same, it was Lithium ion 2 decades ago, and it's still basically the same. Batteries still explode and expand etc

I have the OnePlus ace with the 160W charger and it's amazing 15min or less and it's charged. Charging speed will definitely be my top priority when looking for a new phone.

NickValok, 06 Dec 2022Longer-lasting batteries are more important than useless su... moreTotally agree with the longer lasting batteries. Super charging are not useless, but nowadays, it's more like a megalomaniac war that brands do to brag about their phones.

We have all kinds of war here. First was on cameras (who has the phone with most cameras and now, a megapixel war), who has the faster charging speed, which brand will be the first one to use a brand new chipset, etc..., but almost no news when it comes to batteries with better longevity and system improvements to spend less energy.

You can fill a Porche's tank with low quality fuel. The car will work, but for how long it will keep running at 100% without damages on its internal components?

                                Well nice thing to read.
To be honest if irridium wont be so rare and scarce its replacing on its won catalysts could be the best battery tech ever made.
Its been long time since i read some students which found real properties of irridium capable of regenerating and refueling on its own.
The study still exist and many followed this.
Only main problem is we cant produce irridium way we want.
Just like the bakelyte and plastic replaced iron and steel in many ways.

After the Samsung Note debacle especially, it was widely speculated that Samsung will switch to a far better battery tech within few years but that failed to happen. Instead samsung has an another battery scandal this year i.e expanding batteries

Also, every aspect of smartphone gets loads of innovation every year, from cameras to display etc. Batteries tho, remain where they are
