Well, one less update isn't a deal-breaker, to me at least. But if someone has a certain brand preference then even same amount of updates won't fix it

And most of models are just whatever. Just because they throw bunch of features people are asking for doesn't mean they are suddenly the default choice. Now, if Samsung had all the hardware features and their great software support and they would be the default choice. But for some reason decided their flagship Ultra shouldn't have microSD and headphone jack for some reason. Which makes it a no go for a lot of people. Which is just odd given how just cramming all of it in could solve so many Samsung's "problems" as it would be a default option for tons of people by design.

Sony phones have all that, SD slot, audio jack, physical camera button, free charger, full display, free premium headphones etc etc freebies and stuff, and still no one buys them. Instead people then whining over prices, calling it overpriced, when in reality every flagship phone is going upto $1500 these days, even further

After owning several phones without a headphone jack I won't buy a phone without a jack anymore.
Get a dongle? I never knew how much of a headache such a tiny thing could cause. Most are of bad quality (trash dac), the official Samsung one is hard to find because there are many cheap knockoffs. The Apple one doesn't work properly.

I prefer it doesn't have an IP-rating, but they instead have it a User Removable Battery. That way I can easily hot-swap batteries, and get much better real-world battery life. It also means the phone will have a much longer lifespan, especially if they make some of the internal components modular that's cheap and easy to replace. Especially the screen.
There's so much that can be done to make a better phone. But none of the OEMs are doing it because it's not good for their profit margin, so it's the consumers who end up losing.

For the insane price they will ask for it better have a proper IP rating....
I just hope they also give DC Dimming to all models instead of only lower-end
non pro versions, if i am not with samsung ( for price ) is because of that.
Now using a Vivo X80 Pro with higher PWM frequency and somewat i can manage to
use it at higher brightness and using exta-dim mode to keep the PWM speed high.

How about giving it something useful, aka an audio jack, SD card slot? Like, yeah, IP rating sounds important, but it doesn't necessarily mean that phone without IP rating is more suspectable to elements...
