Something can could have been done before when both SoC and cmos could support.
Lets see if it is real 30fps or frame drop like chinese phones do for 4K/8K.

But will the screen support 8k resolution? If you can't watch the video in full resolution, then it's a useless recording mode.

DMX, 10 Dec 2022Let it be noted that they will enable it because Apple does... moreJust because your pathetic Apple is technologically illiterate, it does not mean everybody else does something because of that. Samsung release cutting edge technology because they have the best engineers and most innovative designers out there. Not because you're desperate for attention, Tim.

Let it be noted that they will enable it because Apple does not support it on the iPhone 14! I also agree that SAMSUNG should support the sd slot, but they won't, why would they stop selling the more expensive ultra version of 512 if they do that!!

I barely use even 4K recording because it takes a huge amount of storage. I don't know who need this resolution

S21 and S22 could also do 8k@30fps, they just didn't want to enable it.
In any case, that is hardly a reason to get the ultra over the plus or vanilla S23.
99.9999999% will just stick with recording in 4k@30

Good idea. Now Samsung has yet another reason to force people into buying the ultra because the vanilla and plus only come with 128 or 256 gb storage
You want that juicy 512 gb? Get the ultra
