        RandyRiffin, 04 Jan 2023Well it's very hard to evaluate specs like 200MP camer... moreWell man i agree on that but a non englightened person will see a 200 mpix better than 12 mpix for example.
        Same goes for anything else.
        Not everytime is more really better but for a non englighted people will always be.
        37 inch microled TV will always prevail over a 70 inch plasma even it will be much more costlier but a 70 inch plasma will be a insnt buy for a non englighted person because bigger is better.

        Tons or countless of examples could be used this way.
        Skilled people will know but for ordinary ones who just came to the shop and read basic specs from the paper next to a selling product will use it as a main source of knowledge and usualy will pick from that instead of asking someone.

        Anyway most salesmans or sales advisors at least in my coutry will advise to buy thing which is either outdated and they need to sell it because this is their chance to get rid of something old. Or will sell something which worth most profit on their next salary.

        Either case what really customer wants and needs goes aside.

            Anonymous, 28 Dec 2022I'm more interested in Google revising the design and ... moreThat was what was so underrated about the Pixel 5. Everyone criticised how it had a midrange 765G off the shelf chipset at a 700 dollar price... then Google decided to up its game and put a flagship Tensor chip with better cameras... but they didn't keep a small compact form factor

            I upgraded from Pixel 3a to 7 and boy it's big. In fact it's the only problem I have with the pixel 7, everything else is perfect.

              I'm more interested in Google revising the design and making phones that aren't so chunky and don't have huge camera humps that make the phone more than 1 cm thick. I'd like to see a pixel more the size of the Pixel 5 again.

                freeDom21, 20 Dec 2022Your'e very wrong. RAW images from proper 10bit on ph... moreProbably the best you'll see on a cellphone with a sane pixel pitch:
                ISO 50 -> 9 usable bits, 1 bit noise
                ISO 100 -> 8 usable bits, 2 bits noise
                ISO 200 -> 7 usable bits, 3 bits noise
                ISO 400 -> 6 usable bits, 4 bits noise
                ISO 800 -> 5 usable bits, 5 bit noise

                Slice off more usable bits if the pixels are tiny.

                It's just the way it is and not even a perfect sensor can fix it. The noise comes from the lack of light itself - it's the duality of light acting like both a particle and a wave. It can't be fixed until someone invents a large aperture system that fits on a phone.

                Some phones pre-process their RAW images to make them simpler and easier to process. For example, some sensors have visible wiring or special purpose pixels that a general purpose image editor can't handle.

                      AnonD-731363, 22 Dec 2022Man pixel 7 is also a midrange. Even a said xiaomi Discov... moreIt's absolutely mind blowing how you said only 3 months ago that even a SD 695 has plenty of power and it's even great for gaming but here you are, talking about Pixels which never brag about their gaming performance, but you mentioning it anyway so Pixel would look like crap which is far from the truth. You are comparing two totally different devices. Redmi Note 12 Explorer to have better camera results then the Pixel 7 Pro? Bruhhhhhhhhhhh.... Please find me just one source providing your claim. Just one.

                      Google are constantly being connected with words like "a smart smartphone", AI, software and camera results. Why are you bringing the big numbers in the game of results? Then people told you the chipset is not just perfomance. Same as here on Pixel 7 series, Google never market their devices as gaming consoles like some other brands are doing for a while now, like Nubia, BlackShark, Rog etc. Those are phones designed to play games and even those are not ideal for their main task called mobile gaming so what exactly do you expect?

                      Every flagship can play the most demanding games for the past 4 years, since SD 865, but here we are, all fixated on a Pixel 7's phone chispet which has more then plenty of power for evertyhing with a few frames per second less in most demanding games. Why? Because it has a silicon benchmark number lower then the flagships of todays competition. A fricking benckmark?! What year are we in? 2013? What about real life performance? Where would you noticed that performance gap? Huh? Only in games buddy.. Only in games. But even you can play any game on a Pixel 7 series it's not meant for gaming. Chipsets are having their modems, ISP's and many other components inside... Not just CPU and GPU. All that + software optimisation is what makes a real phone experience.

                      According to your comments every camera with higher megapixel count is better then the one with less megapixels. Megapixel count doesn't tell us the whole story and you know that and by your faulty logic iPhone's 13 Pro Max camera sucks in comparation with any higher pixel count because it only has 12MP. Really? Bruhhhhh...

                      I disagree about your opinion that most of people who buy phones are spec hunters because I think most of people don't care or don't know how to translate phones specs, they're just buying the last brand with which they had a good experience and if their experience is bad they are trying other brands. Simple as that.

                      Even you, Captain Lubomir, "the owner" of several mobile shops in Slovakia, presented us many times how you can'y read phone's specs properly.

                      How can you say more megapixel = always better camera results

                      Bruh...

                      You're mentioning DxOMark whenever it suits you. When western brand is on the top of the chart of best camera system then you start talking how DxOMark is a paid site and that's just a marketing ploy and we should never trust a paid site. But when a Chinese brand is on top then all of a sudden DxOMark has their weight and everything they're saying is true. Interesting right? Well actually it's very alarming to see what are you prepared to do just to prove us how much you hate "western" brands and how evil they are. Sure buddy... I've been watching you for 10 years in comments and come to conclusion that you need help. A proffesional help. Cheers!

                        AnonD-731363, 22 Dec 2022Man pixel 7 is also a midrange. Even a said xiaomi Discov... moreThe Pixel isn't meant for gaming lol. Google even said that they are fine that their Tensor chip doesn't perform well[1]. For Google, it's all about putting the smart in smartphone. 200MP cameras and really large batteries don't matter if the software doesn't handle them properly.

                        Compare the iPhone SE 2022's 12MP camera and the Galaxy A33 5G's 48MP camera, two cameras from a midrange and a budget-midrange phone (not using the Pixel 7 since it has decent camera quality with a high MP count and this test's about the irrelevance of Megapixels). You'd think that the A33's 48MP camera would absolutely dominate the SE, right?. Color differences aside (The SE's is more natural but some people may prefer the A33's vibrant aesthetic), the SE *looks* more detailed than the A33 at 12.5MP mode and looks just as detailed as the A33's 48MP mode. 91Tech made a video comparing the SE and the iPhone 11 (can't bother to link but search iphone 11 vs iphone se) and in the camera part of the video, there were some shots on the SE that were better even though the SE has inferior camera tech simply because of the SE's better ISP on the A15 Bionic. (Just realized the Pixel 6a has good camera quality with a 12MP sensor but whatever)

                        On the battery side of things (not gonna use the SE since it's a smol phone with a smol battery nor the pixels since they suck battery faster than the speed of light for some reason). The iPhone 14 Pro Max and the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate, fast phone with a 4323mAh battery and less fast phone with larger 6000mAh battery. You probably know how this goes given the last example with the cameras, the iPhone scores ~20 hours better than the ROG Phone in GSMArena's (admittedly basic) battery test.

                        Same goes for the RAM, the latest iOS is snappy with 4GB RAM hardware from 2017 alone while even Androids with the same amount struggle at multitasking.

                        What does this say? That Google can ABSOLUTELY make their Pixels excel in almost every department even years down the line but for some reason. Whether it's lack of software engineers, Android's enormous scope (Android supports everything from a foldable tablet with 12 cameras and some weird proprietary charging standard to a smart toaster with hardware from the Mesozoic era), or something else, Android seems to be hindered
                        in terms of optimization and it shows.

                        Also wait, aren't we supposed to be talking about cameras lol?

                              BlahBlah, 21 Dec 2022Pixel 7 series has one of the best camera results of 2022. ... moreMan pixel 7 is also a midrange.
                              Even a said xiaomi Discovery have more megapixels, faster charging and better screen and many else.
                              Google pixel is all about updates but thats it.
                              Better camera not a chance. They are good but nothing to stands out.
                              Most people on the planet are specs hunters and if they can buy a 200 mpix phone with a 210W charging and most other specs equal or better than pixel for 1/3 of pixel price they will buy.
                              Google and their pixel lines are all about the OS updates but thats it.
                              In the end you get a very updated phone with old hardware unable to run new tricks and apps.
                              Try to run Diablo Immortal on a pixel 7 series now and try it after 5 years when phone will still get support from google.
                              It wont be same thing and it will probbably either not run at all or will lagg like hell. Same can be apllied on many else games and apps.
                              Even Iphone X still receiving updates and is unable to run smoothly on max details games like Diablo Immortal, Forge of Empires, Forza Motosport etc.

                              So once again Pixel is a midrange a better midrange. Updates are nice to have but wont fix problem above. Having best CPU and GPU along with tiny battery super slow charging only 12 mpix camera average screen with average refresh rate and small battery does not sounds like a premium advanced flagship grade device.

                              Lastly honestly i can guarantee you if you put in middle of a large shoping mall all so called flagship grade devices from all brands with their respective pricing and also you put best specced midranger devices such as Discovery by Xiaomi, ZTE Nubia red magic, or Vivo IQOO 11 for example which cost 500 90 or maybe even 95% of people will buy best phone for loweest possible cost.
                              Google like Samsung like Apple and like Sony is very pricey.
                              I know they are quality brand but even a quality brand after 2 years and when your warranty wears off looses 70% of its initial value. (excluding apple because clumsy people will still buy even if it will cost 9999 euros because for a so called status symbol they could give even a kidney for sale just to have money for Apple phone).

                                  Also, modern flagships can easily take a better, more pleasing photo. Also, most flagship phone users don't pixel-peep, so a more tonally well developed photo with good detail is what they prefer, compared to high detail photo with less Dynamic Range. That's why all companies are now doing HDR.
