they can promise all they want, didn't mean it actually happens. they never offered any updates in the UK for the Reno 2 I had. I only got updates by using a VPN and connecting to different countries

Ace9078, 20 Dec 2022Still waiting in the UK for the OS13 on the x3 proI got android 12 for my Reno 6 much earlier by setting a VPN to the Netherlands and going to software update rather than waiting for the UK to get the rollout. So far that’s not working for android 13.

Oppo is quickly becoming one of my favourite Android vendors and I've enjoyed their latest software more than OneUI. Excited to see the X6 series.

Google's 3... moreTo be fair, if Google works out the kinks with Tensor (my wife's Pixel 7 Pro is actually doing well so I guess she got lucky), they might be able to offer even LONGER support seeing as they are in control of the architecture.
Imagine later Google implementing 4/5 OS updates with 7 years of security patches. Snapdragon might not allow that to happen.

It's interesting, if they can keep it. We live in a society where a lot of promises were made, but not kept. Generic kernel image and Linux kernel 5 should make easier to give more regular and continuing updates, if they can keep the promise.
