YUKI93, 22 Dec 2022We haven't seen any new A4x model since the 2020 A42 5... moreI think the Foxconn-made A series is extremely underrated. Especially the Galaxy A8 from 2015 that is extremely light for its size.
And the Galaxy A3 2017, which is not only tiny but also water-resistant too.
And people never mentioned how the Galaxy A series (before Huaqin) had a unique ringtone set similar to Nokia E series phones. Even the S series didn't have those ringtones.

    Anonymous, 22 Dec 2022$600 isn't mid-range. But $400 isEven 700$ can be a midranger. We live in 2022.

Anonymous, 22 Dec 2022$600 isn't mid-range. But $400 isI was debate with that guy someone bought chinese midrange phone for $600, that guy was supporting him, now here he is against buying $600 midrange.

Alishah, 22 Dec 2022Imho, this is a step in the right direction. The S-series F... moreExcept the s-series has a 6.1 screen and the A7x has a 6.7 screen. Do they seriously expect people to buy anything they throw at them just because it's a Samsung? Well i hope they are dead wrong. I know i won't but a Samsung anymore (I never considered the s-series and not only because of the small screen, but the weak battery and no 3.5mm jack. There is just nothing common between this POS and A72 (And the predecessors)).

Imho, this is a step in the right direction. The S-series Fan Editions are there to fill the gap of A7x. The A5x series is a perfect midranger while A3x is there for budget. They need to get over with the A0x, A1x, Ax 's' series and the other series, i.e M, F etc etc.

Henchen, 22 Dec 2022Sad. I still have A72, love it because 6.7 inch screen and ... moreYep, i'm perfectly happy with it, but that was my first and last Samsung phone. It's almost like they thought "Oh hell, we made too good phone, we should fix that as soon as possible", so they came up with the A73 (No 3.mmm jack, no Telephoto and HUGE price) and then this.
And now they are even ruining the cheaper models, removing the jack even in the lower segment.
I guess they hope we will all just get the flagship instead. Well they better think harder.

No doubt they discontinued it because who was even buying a $600 phone with mid-range specifications

                      Good move, Samsung.

A7x was practically a scam by this point. Also, selling last year flagships for less money the following year is a good idea, too. It's the same strategy Apple does.

Minu, 22 Dec 2022And they screwed up the whole A series after letting Huaqin... moreI don't know what to say about 2018 A series line up as that sucked in comparation with previous generations of A series but in my opinion the reason behind why Samsung ditched the premium materials with slowish kinda and old chipsets in A series is to counter the ultra cheap Chinese brands like Xiaomi and their sub-brands Redmi and Poco which are very agressive with pricing. Samsung was loosing money on each sold phone because Samsung's bussiness model is totally different then Xiaomi's. In meantime Samsung find a solution to fight against Ch

Always seemed that A5x was really the star of the A-series line-up anyway so ditching A7x makes sense. This year's A73 was only an A52s with a higher resolution main cam, bigger battery, and no headphone jack.

We've already seen the A33 basically, which is a very huge update, even exceeding the last year A52, and the price is increased too.. perhaps, galaxy A3x will be placed in A5x price range while A5x will be placed in A7x price range given the price range gap for galaxy A53 this year is somewhat a little too narrow to A33 and A73. That too applied to A33, which somewhat has a narrow price gap to A23 (for the base model).

In my opinion, A7x series after A71 always seem like an afterthought for Samsung. A72 didn't have a powerful 5G chipset to justify its top of the range status, while the lower and cheaper A52s did.

A73 finally has the most powerful chipset in the range but Samsung hampered it with downgraded camera setup, hiked prices and quarterly updates while cheaper A53 getting monthly updates. And the A73's humongous front camera cutout is an eyesore compared to the A53's.

YUKI93, 22 Dec 2022To this day, the 2019 A90 5G still remains the only Galaxy ... moreanother midrange is Xcover 6 pro with sd 778G, not A series but has Dex with midrange specs.
