Korean sources claim the brand image is part of the reason.

      Serves Samsung right.
No SD card slot for the Samsung S22Ultra, no headphones... not even a charger. Samsung is soon to be a sinking ship.

S21 Ultra latest update screws my autorotation. I'm not the only case it seems.

My Tab S7+ lost its second screen feature after the update too and needs a workaround to enable it

Nice engineers we have on Samsung's HQ.

Now I am afraid to update. My phone worked great one day. Update. Then it acted like a 10 year old phone. Apple did the same thing too to their customers. Who can we trust now?

Purchased all note's till note 9 where I stopped as they removed 3.5mm headphone jack, micro sd card and so on. Samsung need to fire all design engineers.

ALPHABOY17, 28 Dec 2022I really hope you're joking right now... your s21 has ... moreYep, when Xiaomi too decides to get rid of the 3.5mm jack in all mid-rangers, i'll be buying low-end crap. Companies just don't want our money, because they are too greedy. Quite insane, right? Sign if the times where everything is backwards.

mirciu, 28 Dec 2022Really, a 4-5 years old phone is better that today's l... moreYes, it is. Lol... performance wise, it is obvious that new chipsets are better. Other than that, my S10 has more resolution, it is overall prettier, the photos are not the best but still decent for a phone that was launched almost 4 years ago, it was all glass- unlike the previous generation, for the ones who liked to use wired HP it has HP jack, a SD card slot, offered up to 12GB ram, as well as up to 1 TB for storage. The battery didn't age well, though, but that's about it.

The sales figures speak for themselves, they're off the rail.
Every new release is boring and downgrading what they had on previous generations. The new phones on the S line have nothing appealing for a former Galaxy S user to make the jump, except for the s22 ultra.

mirciu, 28 Dec 2022You can see a spec comparison between an S9 and a S22 right... moreI really hope you're joking right now... your s21 has 50-60% battery left??? My 5 yo S8 still gets more than half the SOT. And I never replaced the battery!
And Samsung update policy was 2 years for s8 and s9. S8 is stuck with android 9, and still works fine, despite being the one ui 1.0. No wonder why I see people still using s8 s9 or s10, that's why. What's so good in s22 series anyway if the battery degrades in max 2 years, BUT update policy is 4 years? It's just sugarcoating at this point.
I never bought s8 for that BS where Samsung claimed only 5-10% battery degradation per year. But well they were right. Why can't they make it happen again now, almost 6 years later???

I'd rather buy a low end A12 phone and be poor shamed than buy a thousand euro phone to throw it in the bin in less than 2 years.

Vegetaholic, 28 Dec 2022Are you serious??? Tell me any difference between s10 or s2... moreYou can see a spec comparison between an S9 and a S22 right here on GSMArena, no need for me to point out the obvious stuff. The discussion is still slightly ridiculous for me because we compare a 4yr old S9 to a new S. It's pointless, cmon. The battery would certainly be a joke by now ( my S21 battery is already down to about 50-60% of what it was when new ). What was the update policy when the S9 came out, 3 years? that means that it reached it's end an year ago.

Let's try to be objective. A new phone is a new phone. We can argue about the amplitude ( or lack of ) of the upgrades from gen. to gen., or about planned obsolence, but that's about it. Yes they're expensive, but if i cannot afford to upgrade my old phone i'm not gonna try and persuade someone who does that mine is as good.

Vegetaholic, 28 Dec 2022Are you serious??? Tell me any difference between s10 or s2... moreYes, just like Apple

mirciu, 28 Dec 2022Really, a 4-5 years old phone is better that today's l... moreAre you serious??? Tell me any difference between s10 or s22?-s23 I have s10 for 4 years and I don't see any difference. Marginally better camera is not an excuse for 4 year gap. Everything else is same, actually worse. Screen is lower resolution on s22-23, no charger in the box, no 3.5mm headphone jack, so actually things are worse than on s10, battery life? Its same battery life as 10 years ago. All phone last 1 to 2 days same with S10 or S22-23.

Life is short, Samsung. If you want to change this situation, please recall the good old days how you become the 1st Android smartphone maker.

I don't want to wait for the incremental change, please bring back the good features to the upcoming flagship.

mirciu, 28 Dec 2022Really, a 4-5 years old phone is better that today's l... moreWell... I still have my S9+ as a secondary. My main is the S21 FE. The S9+ is a better device, more complete, has a led, headphone jack, memory card slot and the OS is much smoother. Performance is on par, the only time the S9+ struggles is when using it while upadating apps from play store. Daylight pictures are the same (oil paintings) but the S21FE shoots better night pictures.

Skanderworld, 28 Dec 2022I agree 100% with you, I don't know what they are thin... moreReally, a 4-5 years old phone is better that today's lineup? Are you serious? Is the battery still holding on ? Do you still get regular software & security support and updates? Does it take better photos than an S22 ?

Because they offer same phones every year like Apple with insane prices. Samsung is dead. No charger in the boxes, no fast charging, hell S22 has no difference from s10, what's the point to buy a S series than 4 years old S10 performs almost same as S22 or upcoming S23?
