Korean sources claim the brand image is part of the reason.

That what you got for purposefully cut off feature.
Samsung claimed S22 series offer the most connectivity yet it didn't have aptx adaptive codec.

No surprise, given the s21U is practically the same as s22U except S-pen slot and worse off battery and no surprise s23 is virtually the same as S22u except incremental 200MP camera that wont be much to miss except marketing.
Where is the real technology advancement. Same thing with Fold 3 and Fold4, so boring who wants to pay $2000 for nearly he same fone every year....only for the fanbois!

They are way to expensive so yea.

Samsung need to hire a new designer for make their flagship have unique design. The last 3 series seam boring from s20, 21, 22 and the next 23 too. I think xiaomi, oppo and vivo has more fresh design.

I've said this with every S series release, but we always get the "best ever pre-order shipment/best ever sales/more shipments than ever" etc etc which is always smoke and mirrors. The issue is that their products are android-based, more and more people have switched to Apple and the younger generations won't accept anything else (all the iPad babies will have iOS ingrained into them). I think Samsung is better than ever product-wise but it's the sad truth. (I do think they should split off the cheaper phones into a 'Galaxy' sub-brand and just keep the high end stuff as Samsung).

Here's an idea, Samsung, stop downgrading your flagships are putting all your eggs into the Ultra model.

s22 had the same camera performance with s20 and worse battery life than s21.what were they expecting?

Until they make these foldable screen cheaper to replace & scratch resistant, its still an overpriced gimmick.

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2022No surprises with recession all over the worldThat's just an excuse, people who are affected by that mostly are people who would have never bought these expensive phones anyway. I mean look how well iPhone sales are doing without need to use that excuse.

They should set up a smaller battery and use old cameras for success.
