I was disappointed from the S22 series. It turned out that its camera is noticeably WORSE than my current S20's. Image is blurred and soft and I have checked multiple units from different stores.

Only the fake 1.1 "tele" lens from my S20 was noticeably worse than S22's, but hey - the main camera is the most important one. I expect from 2 generations newer device to be better in every area.

Not mentioning the lack of micro SD card.

    This is not acceptable.

Just compared speakers of S22 ultra and my A72...
Well the A72 sounds significantly better and the Iphone pro max sound significantly better than A72. Absolutely the same goes with batteries. S22 ultra is worse than A72 and A72 is worse than iPhone pro max. I'm an iPhone hater, but we need to be honest. Samsung just don't wantr to offer a proper flagship and since A73, they started to ruin their mid-rangers too. There's just no reason to buy a Samsung.

Phones have become way boring lately. No major changes or innovations, but just a game of chasing higher figures with every coming model. Android phones especially. Apple at least tries to do something different, satellite connectivity and the touch buttons on upcoming iPhone etc for example.

Meanwhile Android phones be like, "hey look, this has 13462 GB of Ram with 28436 watt charging" 🤡 🤡

Oh no... S22 sales failed to reach their goal.. It was so expected behind their lies earlier in the year. Well, Samsung, why don't you make a FLAGSHIP out of S23 and S23+

I mean is anyone buying foldables unironically? $2100 for a stupid gimmicky phone with a plastic screen and a crease? Only Youtube reviewers are buying that. Nobody else

walkman8, 27 Dec 2022That's what you get for taking the cost-cutting route.... moreNext thing to keep costs in line is to kick off the s-pen from the ultra-series. Bruuhhahah :-). No, jokes beside. Long ago, the most complete device was the Galaxy S5, which offered microSD, headphone-jack, removable battery, infrared-transmitter, and all that in a compact form-factor. I will never understand, why it should be so hard to keep these features and also pushing the SOCs with next-gen hardware upgrades. Just because of holding a 2mm thinner device and suffering from so much feature-victims? It's not only Sammy who lost it's path, to be fair. That's why I'm happy with my Asus Zenfone 9. It's not without compromises, but less then other devices.

It's looking the Galaxy S line is reaching the end of the line after a dozen years with the Ultra replacing the regular S line and Note.

Foldables aren't taking off as Samsung thought they would. Only catered to tech enthusiasts like Michael Fisher. And it seems many tech YouTubers don't really carry a Fold as their daily driver from SuperSaf's video. They mostly use an iPhone or Galaxy Ultra. The occasional Pixel since they're being paid by Google.

walkman8, 27 Dec 2022That's what you get for taking the cost-cutting route.... moreiPhone didn't upgrade either.. Turns out, the GPU planned was a big energy eater so they had to scrap it and stayed with the same GPU as in iPhone 13. Meaning very modest improvements. As for Samsung, they dropped the ball a long time ago. Unibody, non removable battery and no expansion slot were all meant to push their customers to replace their phones at least every 2 years. That's pissing on your customers and calling it rain. Not to mention the lack of a charger in the box..

And no reason to change my fold3 because same design but new cpu to me is noting i want like vivo foldable bigger screen no gap bigger outside screen...samsung now improvements at all since fold 2.

That's what you get for taking the cost-cutting route.

I mean, look at Apple: there were zero hardware downgrades from 13 to 14.
Meanwhile, look at Samsung: s22 compared to s21 has smaller battery capacity, inferior vibration engine, inferior speakers.

Little money (in flagship realm) for a phone with serious cost-cutting measures or a lot of money for a phone with no spec compromises? Seems like Apple won with their strategy.

The main reason i avoid and never bought flagship is because no microsd, and jackport. Is kinda waste of great hardware with limited alternatives of storage on offline usage. Cloud storage is mediocre at the core, is not intended as replacement to microsd, just an alternative of backup or shareable storage.

Is seems google have intention to force their user to use their cloud services by tune down data transfer on usb and microsd and make them look slow performance. Recently i have problem to transfer data via usb or microsd after update to android 13. The speed is constantly dropped and look unstable, is different on older version or on laptop which is more reliable.

They should improve their handware design rather than buffed up gimmick feature abd remove essential feature and following apple trend.

-Trix-, 27 Dec 2022That's just an excuse, people who are affected by that... moreEven S22 is doing well, Fail reaching sales target doesnt mean sales are not good.

Within 4 month S22 ultra did outsell all note, and sold around 11M units.

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2022I've said this with every S series release, but we alw... moreYou need to take this report with pinch of salt, Counterpointresearch did report untill Aug this year 9M foldable were shipped already so there is no way this year shipment will be lower than last year, they just cherry picked sales of Flip 4 vs Flip 3 to make headlines.

0 Innovations and blindly copying Apple will be the cause of their downfall.
                                  1) Removing chargers from the box.
                                  2) No improvements in charging speeds.
                                  3) Same old 3 year old cameras on their flagships, without a legit zoom/periscope on even the +.
                                  4) Discontinuing the Note series to force-feed people the Frankenstein S22 Ultra *cough* *cough* Note. The S21 Ultra was such a perfect device, but no they had to go ahead and mess it up.
                                  5) Deprioritizing their bread and butter S22 / + models by making it Flat screened just so they could copy the Apple design language.
                                  6) Their global Exynos Bee.Ess.

Seriously, the Chinese phones are much better buys these days.

The problem with most android manufacturers are that they want to sell iPhones with android. Shiny overpriced toys for people who don't even know what they need.

As a practical person and a "tech geek", i've never bought a flagshin and never would.
                                    1. Insane prices.
                                    2. No 3.5mm jacks
                                    3. Poor battery life with a few exceptions (Apple finally offered good battery life with the newest pro max).

At the same time manufacturers like Samsung cripple their cheaper model more and more to force people to buy their flagships. Well, not gonna happen. If i wanted an iPhone, i'd buy an iPhone. That's why Apple's market share grows. They offer certain people what they want, while manufacturers like Samsung try to offer something for the exact same crowd, while they refuse to offer something for those who don't actually want an iPhone.

                                    Well, that's the result...

                                      1) Recession. 2) Continuous, constant, unstoppable, year by rear, removal of features. Headphone jack, led light, memory expansion, chargers etc. 3) Poor batteries. Especially in Europe with the crappy exynos. 4) No proper normal dimension flagship. It was an honest decision on my behalf to choose the S21fe over the S22 or S22 plus. Not just because I prefered Snapdragon over exynos. If I had chosen the S22/S22plus, it would bother me to know that I payed SO MUCH money when there was an even better Samsung device out there, the S22 ultra, with more capable camera and a proper flagship curved display. But I couldn't buy the Ultra because I already have a tablet and I wanted a phone that would fit in my hand!!! 5) Really sloppy Android 12 skin, marginally better in 13. It's now been two months that Samsung keyboard has a bug and doesn't use capital letters when writing new sentences and they just don't care to fix it!!! 6) Are they still wandering why sales decline?

My friend owns a retail outlet that sells phones and he gave me 4 major reasons why people skipped buying a Samsung:
                                        1. No Headphone Jack
                                        2. No charger in the box
                                        3. Poor performance of Exynos chip
                                        4. Poor battery backup

But the 2 BIG reasons are the lack of a headphone jack and Exynos. At that point, an average customer would rather buy an iPhone.
