Samsung Q4 earnings guidance warns of plummeting profits

06 January 2023
Lowered demand for smartphones and memory chips is taking a toll on Samsung's profits.

if sammy falls flat, there are others that can replace them in the android side, they'll learn from its fall and not repeat the same crap they've done, i'll never ever again buy an iphone. since the iphone 3g i've successfully stayed away from them.

so let's see where they could be having problems. bad haptics, mediocre display (it's an 8 bit display without DV), Laggy and slow UI, lowered performance by default, mediocre battery life, unimpressive speakers, no headphone jack, no sd card, mid tier autofocus, overprocessed photos. That's just the top tier S series phones. Even compared to last year's phones this year's ones seem pretty mediocre, take A53, S21 FE and S22 Ultra for example. Either price, performance or both are compromised. The S22 and S22+ have seen a drop in battery and screen size. Why are they treating the regular S series phones so poorly? First they give those a worse camera system and then they reduce the resolution and now even lower size and battery, what's going on Samsung. The only thing they have for themselves is that their UI is pretty good and gets updated properly and regularly. Though there's a lot of bugs and stutters. Luckily for them all other manufacturers have compromises too but Samsung's just gone 2 steps back this year after taking a step forward last year

To all the experts in the comment section, the article is about Samsung as a whole. The smartphone business is just a tiny bit of it. Their major business is memory and other things.
      Stop being so narcissistic.

Copying on apple on everything. Now...,on price also.

Anton-, 06 Jan 2023All this for imitating the moves that Apple makes, which on... moreApple just lost $1 trillion in market value, so they are also not flying high at the moment.

Is it the demand or their ridiculous pricing I wonder.

                They deserved this outcome.
The loss is partly due to underwhelming flagships, but it's mostly because of ridiculously overpriced low and mid-end devices. I can't find a single Samsung smartphone below 150 euros, and even that 150 euro device would be outdated even for 2016 standards. On the other hand, Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme and Moto offer way more bang for the buck.

Well removing microSD slots, removing 3.5mm jacks, very very bad camera software (whilst OK hardware), here is the result. VERY HAPPY. I am moving to another brand wich doesn't insult consumers

Samsung should work harder to earn the profits. Tneir lazyness are reflected in the results.

oof, hope this turns around for Samsung. If it continues like this then Apple will dominate the global smartphone market and personally I hate that idea more than anything else... Any company being a monopoly is a bad thing for consumers.

All this for imitating the moves that Apple makes, which only works for Apple* Keep imitating things from them hahaha

Make more inovative designs and remove the front cam - put under display and im sure a lot more would get a new phone.
