It's a premium material used to build bullet-proof glass and fighter jets canopy. Bet you didn't know that.

For Samsung fans and haters, I have some important info to get rid of some stupidity about polycarbonate. It's not cheap plastic. It's 300 times stronger than average plastic. It has higher hardness scale and higher impact resistance than even the kevlar fiber. It's what being used to make bullet-proof glass and even the pilot canopy of the f22 Raptor fighter jets. So, though it may not look like it, it's definately premium material to people who understand it. O, and it's temperature resistant also and has flame-retardant properties. And another added info about the S4 the people might not aware of. It most probably also water resistant, as how the S III was (check it out on youtube). Hope this helps.

Im not hater of any brand...but reality..
People in this forum praise samsung plastic built is high quality definitely people with 3rd class mentality. They never understand the concept of cost saving in manufacturing industrial objective.
The main reason why plastics was choose is to mass production and reduced suppliers asking price for material.
For god sake again....all time time telling " best feature ""best features " in samsung phone...
Feature is nothing...just a sofware with zero cost implementation for the designer to create. Please learn 1st before you praise your beloved smartphone brand.
Indeed...im still agree with majority of the world people opinion about samsung is still low cost product.
Asus,apple,moto,sony,nokia far better and great craftmenship design in mobile world.

I think that s4 is a bigger step from S3 then S3 from S2, in terms of inovation. Who care about design :-P

I dread to think how hot this device will get, our quad cores we are using now can get rather hot as it is, the s4 will need to be waterproof like the xperia Z just so it can be cooled down. I think they have been daft by not really changing the design and by sticking with cheap plastic. This year is Sony's year I reckon.

for god sake.all the time the fan shouting =galaxy phone made from crap quality plastic.
Reality is the hater givin low design Voting=6.4_actually from mostly S3 previous owner.
We all know you all frustrated with lazy samsung design.
I will buying this phone after there DROP test has been post on the internet.
And hope this plastic not break into pieces..
If this fail again as what we lookin on the S3 drop testyoutube video...I'll better wait next
MotoX or Nexus5 flagship which more durable design and
solid body construction.

But ... moreWell , maybe you are not buying it but millions of other people will do .I hate to say it but Samsung has won this year also before they even begin and thanks to their awful and crazy ads they are blinding people from seeing other brands like the HTC One or the Xperia Z which for me are more better than the S4 .

it seems everyone here noticed the design. yes it is powerful ,yes it can sell well. but how long. perhaps massive marketing. I was thinking a new look, but again. sammy are obvious they are following the trend of iphone design..

Is this possible to u to install ddr3 ram in ddr1 slot ?
Its not possible so Hardware is always important. May be my cabinet is bad looking but i have powerful hardware inside so its the same thing.
