As for start menu it did had sort of. And pining thing and large icons actually was better on laptop screen and probably not so great on desktop-sized display.

My really old laptop came with Windows 7. Worked well. But got many blue screens of death. And animations were somewhat laggy. Then I clean installed Windows 8.1 and it was better. Less blue screens and smoother animations. And then Windows 10. Worked better. No any error or crash. Now even hardware is unsupported but Windows 11 runs really great. No issues at all. Very good one. Animations are premium and similar to Mac OS. Sound quality is greatly imporved too. The new media player has more bass and music sounds miles better. Just skip Windows 10 and install Windows 11.

Even windows 7 is still more stable than windows 11. I use a windows 10 pc which I tried to upgrade last year, and the system fully crushed (btw I got a notification that my pc was compatible) so I had to make a fresh install of windows 10. Why am I "forced" to upgrade from a stable version of windows (10) to an unstable one (11)?; I stayed with win10.

Windows 7 was probably the best version out there, only beaten by 10 LTSC. But why is none pointing out that 8/8.1 was probably the worst Windows to date? How can you tolerate not having start menu?

It's about time. Windows 7 machines should be able to run Windows 10 just fine.

The problem is, most of those machines won't be able to run Windows 11, so when support for Windows 10 ends, it's the end of the road.

I upgraded to 11, but it didn't make the operating system any easier to use. Sometimes it seems to me that Microsoft has lazy and incompetent people in some departments
