So why we pay more than $1300 for a smartphone and not even get a feature that will future-proof us!

london2tim, 18 Jan 2023why do you need wifi7 theres little if anyone using it in... moreWiFi 7 is the first major release in wireless connectivity history that has REAL changes, very big jump from old versions to 7, it can combine ALL bands to work together for both faster transfers and longer range.

It benefits me when I transfer files/backup between my smartphone and external fast SSD which will be connected to WiFi 7 router.

Samsung asking people to pay premium price for the Ultra while they don't even bring latest in technology is what makes a lot of people angry including me.. you're paying more than $1300 to expect latest and greatest in smartphone not to be like $500 phones! That's unacceptable from a big company like Samsung.

Microsd card on the ultra, why can't they give that back across the range. And 3.5mm jack or a second usb c port so you can listen and charge at the same time.

While i do agree with everybody's frustration, i don't get the point about Wifi 7

Even if it gets 5 years of Android and 7 years of security updates (which is a very generous estimate), it's good until 2030; Wifi 6 was released in 2019 and still not as prevelant or important for 99% of users, The fact that there is no affordably avaliable Wifi 7 router in the market and that it won't matter at all for several years is beyond my understanding.

              What about satellite connectivity?

                why do you need wifi7
theres little if anyone using it in their networks lol

                even wifi 6 is limited

                  WOW

And here I thought the Red Magic 8 Pro (global) would be the 2nd phone that supports WiFi 7 after S23+/ultra.. turned out it's the only WiFi 7 TRUE flagship of the year!

I wonder why people even think about this ripoff when they can buy that phone which comes with latest technologal advancements while being even cheaper than Samsung base phone!

What a piece of garbage. Anyone who buys this is literally kidding themselves. You can get the same or better performance for 500 euro less on just about any other brand.

These renders of the phone reminds me of the Google pixel 4.
Anyways, i may just pick up a used S22 Ultra instead.

This is choice from samsung. Nothing to do with SoC.
Snapdragon variants had these same issues.

I still have a P30 Pro that I will replace probably this year. I'm not an environmentalist. But replacing a phone just after 12 - 18 months is a waste of ressources

Updating any other part is not part of the plan.

The people who bought one of the S22 phones with Exynos are now going to regret as the S23s come with Snapdragon
Unfortunately i'm one of the people who bought an S22+ back in September before we got any leaks about this
Had i known about this i would have waited until next year
Let's just hope the S24 also comes with Snapdragon so i can snatch that one, i can't really justify upgrading after 1 year

notafanboy, 18 Jan 2023The only good thing about this phone is no more Exynos.and the base model comes with 256 Gb. Let´s hope that the snapdragon will help in taking better photos.
