If they divide a 5000 mAh battery into 4 different cells of 1250 mAh and charge each one at 20W max (80W in total), then only it makes sense.

Better to have slow charging Samsung/iPhone, rather than slow charging chinese phone.

Y'all fast charging haters realize just because your phone supports 240W charging, it doesn't mean it won't accept your slow 5W charger, right? Nobody's forcing you to charge at blazing fast speeds.

Fast Charging is another marketing gimmick out of these companies. Caveat here is that super, ultra fast chargers are making battery longevity of phones worser. My phone even supports super fast charging but im sticking to my 10-25 watts charger hahahaha I have the peace of mind that my battery will take me at least 2-3 years or more. Won't be spending a lot of mollahs

Just being snarky and have to ask why should this be a poll for the consumer? Shouldn't fast charging just be the least time possible, why are people still choosing otherwise? If fast charging means 5 minutes or less and battery reliability and technology keeps up (with regard to longevity, safety, degradation, size, etc), why should there be an 'ideal limit' for fast charging? Do you need the 2 hour charge just so you can take a break from your phone? :-D

Martian, 22 Jan 2023Funny how most people who complain about bad fast charging ... moreI’ve used 50w charger, and it was nearly perfect, not too fast or too slow, so yeah, battery is more important, work time of battery and charging shows have opposite correlation

It can take hours to charge while I sleep. The phone has already failed me if I need to charge it mid-day.

For the people saying "You don't have to use it all the time! It's nice to have!!" You're failing to realize that the fast charging "feature" also makes the phone pricier. Why pay extra for something I'm not going to use? Not to mention most batteries are non-removable these days, you're willing to shorten their lifespan even further? Some people can't think with their heads I guess...

Modern phones should be able to get a full charge in less than 30 min. Talks about degrading battery are mostly BS. In many cases quick change is possible because phone has 2 small physical batteries being charged simultaneously. However, conspiracy theories lovers should have an option to turn off fast changing if they want so. The rest of people should be able to charge their phones quickly and conveniently.

I just wish they'd standardise pogo pins. I have a usbc magnetic adapter that is barely larger that the usbc plug itself. Put that on every phone and scrap the physical plug.
Makes wireless charging redundant as well.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2023Agree %100. I used to have OnePlus one, 5T, 6T and 7T durin... moreTotally agreed. I once was a proud of of OP 5t star wars edition, absolutely loved that phone. Anyways, the charging tech used is quite proprietary that it severely degraded the battery backup when i plugged it to any other charger than the one that came with it. I bet any other owner of super vooc (BBK) phone will attest to this, that their phone would have been great for a year at most and then wouldve degraded really fast. Android phone makers should really bring the battery health percentage option to their phone.

I used to have OnePlus one, 5T, 6T and 7T during past 8 years. tired of their support. battery specially degraded bad after 1.5 year. specially with fast charge (OnePlus 7T was 50Watt) when the battery start degradation, I had to charge it twice a day.
I switched to iPhone 14Pro max. I don't care how long does it take to charge because I have more than 1.5 day with lots of usage battery. I charge it during night.
