22 January 2023
When it comes time to get a new phone, how fast would you want it to do a full 0-100% charge? What about fast wireless charging?

Narazumono, 22 Jan 2023Of course people are gonna choose 15-30 mins Those people ... moreThe ones always vouching for fastest charging are usually the people with low cost phones. They know their phones will last 2 years anyways, so why not to make the most of it in that period

I'm glad to see GSM Arena running some decent polls. In addition, it's good to see them debunking things the manufacturers and reviewers think people care about.

Fast charging kills the battery so no

It also depends on the price of a phone. If I buy an affordable phone (under $200) and it comes with fast charging then I'll take it, cause the usable life span of such phones is usually less than 2 years, the same as life of a battery with fast charging

But if I'm buying a flagship then I'd like the battery to not significantly degrade in the time I use it (around 4 years)

So fast charging in affordable phones, slow charging for flagships is what I'll go with

Of course people are gonna choose 15-30 mins
Those people want to ruin their batteries and then complain why their phone dies so fast

Fast charging here, fast charging there, but have you wondered why improvements in battery technology such as a battery capable of holding much MaH, like 6000 Mah in a 5000 Mah battery physical size....or a battery that doesn't show much cycle degradation until the the third year or something new in the battery technology itself ?

Ulefone Power Armor 19, Ulefone Power Armor 18T, .UlefonePower Armor 18, Doogee S89 Pro. Doogee V11, Several Oukitel phones, And some other phones and brands offers 67W charging or faster and battery of 7000 and more.
OnePlus 11, Most Nubia Red Magic phones, Xiaomi 12 note pro and several else offers 100+W charging speeds and battery of 5000 mAh.
              Glad for said phones.
Because no phone is a flagship grade device with charging speeds of Micro-USB connector which was at most 10-20W and 1A or 2A at most. Just like Apple, Sony, Samsung and Google.
Phones which needs more than 30 minutes of charging to fill the battery should be considered as midrange regardless of the other specs especialy when they have no charging brick in the box.

Faster and faster, is just the right evolution of things and times.

40-60 mins wires, and no wireless

just wait until they quad parallel charging or 5 parallel charging for 5000mah = 5 1000mah small batteries 🤣

I don't see how that's a feature, it's a nice to have for sure but I wouldn't give up on the potential longevity of a battery just because phone makers want to create a portable steam iron.

Charging speed? Could not care less...

As fast as possible while remain under acceptable temperature.
