Samsung Galaxy S23 series to use a customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with higher clock speed

It will be called "Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy."

If anything, they should downclock the SoC instead of overclockibg it. Compared with Apple Silicon, Quallcom SoCs - in particular the SD 8 Gen 1 - showed notoriously bad power consumption, raising overheating problems and eating up battery life.
Current SoCs are so incredibly powerful that no software application would noticeably suffer from a small performance decrement, while substantially prolonging battery life and reducing heat dissipation.

        9to5Google says the chip WON'T be made by Samsung foundry because the "leaker" RGCloudS just guesses without insider knowledge and just talks sh*t on twitter to get attention.

                            People assuming TSMC makes absolutely cool running and perfectly efficient chips are delusional. Samsung chips may be a tad worse than TSMC, but all TSMC made chips, and all chips in general, have heat related issues. And process nodes and heat sinks are the main deciding factors.

                            Having said that, it's a mystery as to how much more heat the higher clocked core will generate, and whether it would be worth the extra customization.

                              If 8 Gen2 for S23 being fabbed by Samsung is true then this changes everything. I was so excited that Europe will finally not be shafted and here goes Samsung messing it up for the entire world.

                                Overclocked snapdragon soc made at the Samsung foundary.... So it's just the Exynos chip rebranded because the reputation is so bad nowadays 😁😂🤣😂😁

                                        Damn I was finally excited for a Samsung with Snapdragon in Europe, but now if that is true and they are made in Samsung's fab I'm gonna pass on getting one.
