What’s the point of having fast charge when your phone’s battery would never survived till you actually found a place to charge your phone.

Analog USB to 3.5mm converters exist but it just needs that dongle not to be lost somewhere on the couch. Also, third-party hifi USB Dac is in the market for hifi listeners.

Stepping down to 256 GB and compressed Bluetooth audio would feel like the old days of garbage carrier designed phones. - I wouldn't pay more than $50 for one. On the other hand, something that plays high quality audio and can replace most functions of a laptop computer would be worth a lot.
What's messed up is that every high-end phone made in the last 4 years is identical except in CPU speed and shape of the camera bump. There's no feature variety. Imagine if all the exotic car manufacturers built $5 million Toyota Prius clones, but with different tail lights.

Every phone manufactures have to follow EU guidelines prior to releasing their phone. Just like they are forcing apple to release phones with usb C there must be some guidelines / charging speed cap in EU.
Also its laughable to consider china having higher safety standards than EU.

Just 4-5 years back people were happy with 5-10W chargers. Now that fast chargers has arrived ppl want 200- 300W charger... I mean how impatient you have to be to want your phone instantly charged. Phone manufacturers have to follow the safety guidelines.
5000-6000mah battery + 45-60W charger combo is just perfect.

People these days complain about "nO sD CarD = TrAsH" and now we complain about battery health issues with fast charging when this was actually addressed publicly like what, 9 Months ago? So you mean to tell me that MKBHD made a video addressing the concerns for fast charging FOR NOTHING?! Y'all really need to go touch some grass *if needed* and calm down
also yes we took the SD Card for granted once but ask yourself if you really really need an external storage on your device when maybe 128GB or 256GB might be enough? but asking that would stir a controversy anyways from those who call every phone with no SD Card "trash" so im not gonna go about it in detail.
It's the same anyways with the Headphone Jack (all though there's a debate to be said). My only biggest issue really about this is people immediately characterizing a phone trash because of "No SD Card or "No Headphone jack", that's it
and credit where credit is due chinese phones at least include a charger and I feel guiilty for buying a Google Pixel 7 that has no charger that US Companies take away (and yes samsung because... yes) but I also felt like it will make up in other areas anyways and I do not disqualify any phone with features we took for granted not available as "trash"
I'm sorry if it's super long but i'm getting frustarted with the state of community, and dont worry im not saying everyone is bad (I'm looking at you Yext) is but some of the majority....

I thought I read somewhere that the higher wattage charging is based on the 220v power grid versus the US which uses a 110v power grid. Feel free to educate us if this is incorrect or only part of the equation.

Anonymous, 19 Jan 2023Note 7 was design flaw, nothing to do with charging. Also... moreIt uses more power because it is charging 2 batteries rather than 1 so they are only using half the power specified, it isn't cooking one big battery at all so no difference to the battery life. Having had an 8T since it came out, which uses that 2 battery technology, it has no battery life issues

R.I.P. battery health.
Ultra super duper fast charging pro feature is only perfect for people who works as an Uber/Go-Jek/Doordash/Grab driver and for people who has bad time management.
Imagine saving time by using these features, only to spend those saved times by browsing tiktok.
I am not saying ultra super fast charging is a bad feature, but it's a secondary thing people would see before buying a flagship. Thats why Apple and Samsung always sell most of the flagship every year (compared to all chinese flagships combined)

Also... moreMan i dont need to compain since Oneplus Nord and Xiaomi crapi are more safer than your desirable scamsung which should charge at 45W but barely reach 20W.
BBK testing doesnt means anything since from 2017 up to present day many people bought many phones with fast charging tech and those many people are particulary happy.
I have 67W charger with my as you said Crapmi Xiaomi phone and wouldnt go to anything slower. But faster instead.
Even 30 minutes waiting to charge the battery is way too much for me.
Since time is money faster is always better but feel free to charge your phone for several hours at laughable speeds where a 240W charger on a realme phone will do same ting within 7 minutes and the battery will be equally same degraded like your samsung maybe even less since realme lab managed to revive dead cells and 800 cycles went to 1600 so a battery can last 4 and half years charging every single day and after 4 and half year will be at 80% capacity where your desirable samsung will reach 80% capacity in 2 years when charging every single day.

Anonymous, 19 Jan 2023I dont know, only one case when battery exploded is Samsung... moreIt wasn't entirely Samsung's fault tho, but yes fast charging does very little against your battery. Heat does. While technically yes a 120W fast charger will generate more heat than something like a 15W charger, but the charging will be done faster, so the heat will go away faster, therefore, your phone spends more time being hot on a slow charger than on a really fast charger.

Whats up with the fast charging hype? Who wants this?
Rather slow charging and a bigger battery that lasts at least a couple of days and charges slowly to 90% during the night maximizing the life of the battery.
I do now want a phone that i need to plug in the charger for 5 minutes every 2 hours and thats battery is dead in two years.
