Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 specs surface, promise powerful CPU, support for external GPU

This chip is aimed at Windows PCs and has the connectivity to match with PCIe 4.0 for storage and USB 4 for external connectivity.

    why vga or cpu make them big is just for longevity.
    i still see so many Nvidia Quadro 2nd or even some old p6100 laptop still kicking until today .cant says same thing to arm laptop with a small solder ball

            I think this will be doa if it will be priced as we have seen arm devices.

            Compared to Intel and Amd cpus for laptops this could be just little bit better gpu and little bit better battery life.

            I would hope we could get Apple M series like performance with little bit cheaper price eventually but will see.

            If there would be great x86&x64 emulation for Windows 11 we could in couple of years have even competition to gaming laptops with huge battery life and thin form factors and those laptops could be quiet and cool too!

Its just Niche instruction, Apple M series doesnt have it and Even Snapdragon Success or failure will have nothing to do with Avx512.

                    do note intel on amd using 16x line meanwhile this 8cx gen4 only 8xline ...
                    i am correcting what you saying..all amd support external gpu ..what you mean is vga card for laptop? upgradable? keep dreaming no oem want do that .no oem want you upgrade your vga on laptop except macbook because macbook have their own ecosystem

                      External GPU support does sound interesting, but how ARM SoC will work with it is another matter altogether. Even AMD still can't give external GPU support for their laptop x86 CPUs.

                          Also, worth pointing that Qualcomm could have released a 12 core ARM-based laptop SOC that could compete with M1/M2 and Intel's and AMD's Ultrabook Line, using stock ARM Cortex X2 core designs, at least since a year ago, only that they are stubborn and wanted to wait to release their Nubia cores, probably not to pay royalties to ARM.

                            Microsoft is basically win32 this never gonna work but a window subsystem on Linux not that hard

                              If it is under 1000USD for workbook and performance is equal with i7-1370P or Ryzen 7 6800U in the same price I will buy it

                                    -Estimation of Adreno 740 be Equivalent of gtx 1050 was done by Geekerwan you can check it in youtube review of sd 8 gen 2 and what impressive is because it can reach that perfomance while using just 7W, 1050 used like 10 times power.

                                    -perfomance of Adreno 740 as of now is almot same as Rdna 2 there is a table here with 3dmark data

                                    The difference there is less than 10%

                                    Adreno 740 is using 7W only, and has 680Mhz clock speed, while 6800U use 30W and can turbo to 50W, with more power jn laptop Adreno 740 can be overclocked to get 50 to 100% more perfomance, like all other Adreno gpu from before.
