ALU to Cache, 23 Jan 2023imagine paying 1200 dollars for a phone that's all pur... moreDude, never give smart reply to any chinese phone fans, especially if you are explaining any great features about Samsung/iPhone. They dont care at all.

They just randomly saying bad things about samsung/iPhone, only to create short term better feeling with their inferior chinese phone.

Better to remind them about how really inferior their phone is, by telling facts about so many inferior features in chinese phone. And also remind them, that the sales of Samsung/iPhone destroys the sales of all chinese phones combined.

By doing so, their inner suffering would awaken, because they dont to be reminded that they have inferior phone and being minority group (chinese phone user) here.

Ah, like Pixel's "turn the night into day" night mode. Perfectly wrong.. I want night to look like night.

It has to be compressed to lower quality.

Bottom of screen is brighter than top and sides.
Slower performance with same SoC every year.

HDR10+ can only take advantage of content recorded in HDR10+, something only phones have. Samsung created HDR10+ to avoid paying dolby vision.

Now, I am in the market for a new smartphone. Have been using a Huawei P30 for almost 3 years now, but battery is slowly dying, the back cover glass is badly cracked, and sometimes it suddenly stops reading the SD card and doesn't recognize it anymore.

I wanted to replace it with a Sony Xperia 1 IV, but honestly, the Xperia is more than twice as much as I payed for a new P30 3 years ago, and I would also have to buy a new charger, cables and SD card.
So for the better part of the last half year, I have been avidly reading reviews of dozens of phones and ultimately, I have ended up waiting for the new Samsung Galaxy S23 ultra.
Reading all these leaks that suggest only minor improvement in camera hardware and software, the omission of SD card slot and 3.5mm audio jack, and seeing now these horrific camera samples, I am seriously considering not to buy, a new phone at all.
So today I ordered a new battery, a new back cover and some tools to replace the broken parts and battery by my own. Will save me north of 1200 bucks and honestly: the P30 with its Leica tuned algorithms is still among the most competent cameraphones available.

I mean add it all up and it's best to just get a budget-midrange phone and a dedicated camera if you're so concerned about camera quality so as to spend north of 1000 dollars

You comment just proven how blind and inaccurate one can be. You didn't study even a little still made a comment for nothing.

They had the best Android software experience after pixel. Who needs Dolby Vision when they're using a better video encoder for years? Hdr10+ support higher bit playback support compared to DV. Their 8 bit display is even miles better than 12 bit rgb color space. Their speaker is one the balanced so far. Battery is per with top phones. Saying camera are mid just shows your sheer ignorance. From displamate galaxy line phones have high over 100% DCI-P3 wide colour gamut in colour space. Never heard anything like conservative algorithm for hampering performance lol. Ram Management is beating iPhones for years in most tests

Those samples are quiet bad, but I think it that case the person that was taking them is the one to blame. You can make any camera look bad. We will see.

Meh, would except better on the 200mp Samsung sensor on a Samsung flagship. Same other cams from like 3 generations too so very disappointing cam quality. The mate 50 Pro, Google pixel 7 pro, xiaomi 12s ultra, find X5 pro, all seem to beat it easily too, to name a few last year flagships.

Maybe next year Samsung will start trying a bit harder, be nice after years of this regurgitated, bland design with soulless, numbingly repetitive hardware choice (remember when Samsung tried to push the mobile tech industry instead of stagnating it, when LG and HTC were still major players, those were the days).

Does not look impressive at all. As expected, Samsung went the wrong way. I doubt this camera will be able to compete with IMX989 equipped phones.
