I just think that Samsung won't do that ever again since they received a lots of hate for putting a plastic back on S21.

Id take scratch resistant screen over shatter resistance, once screen shatters its useless, but scratched up screen is tedious to look at.

SShock, 27 Jan 2023Everyone raving about shattering, how many phones have you ... moreThat user thinks that sapphire is less brittle. My comment was to inform him and other people that it's not the case. If in the future, phone screens use sapphire, there will be more cases of screen shattering. In my opinion, glass is the best overall. The scratch resistant is quite good, and it's not so brittle as sapphire.

I know I haven't shattered any display in last 15 years, however, I've had many really nasty unexplained scratched that drove me nuts the entire time afterwards. I'd take sapphire any time. I've had it on my watches and those are all still absolutely spotless without even a single micro scratch. Phones, all scratched. And no, using screen protector is a terrible suggestion. They always add annoying edges which collect dust and delaminate eventually from the screen, they are of wrong sizes, go over curved edges for god knows what reason and tons of other issues. It's very rare that screen protector gives good experience. Phone cases, yes and with transparent TPU you often don't have a feeling you're compromising much, but with screen protectors you most certainly do.
