30 January 2023
UFS 4.0 will be used only for higher 256GB capacity model. There may be other cut backs as well.

Classic. Wonder what that whole executive meeting was about? Didn't they want to NOT cheap out on parts? Assuming this rumor is true.

I can only hope for them to fail miserably and sales being a flop, this is beyond ridiculous. At this point this phone isn't even flagship grade.

I see nothing wrong with that if that keeps the base model price the same as last year. It's the same storage tech as s22 and no one complained about that.

The issue is that Samsung seem to be taking a lot of features away from anything that isn't the Ultra line.
Even though Apple have taken the Mini out of their line up the smaller Pro has all the features of it's bigger sibling.

Gimping the haptics on the S23 is one step too many and I will not be buying the phone. There's plenty of other OEMs that offer other devices.

Way too expensive now to be cutting back on anything Samsung. You've lost my custom to the Google Pixel phone line-up. A lot of us cannot afford to be paying Samsung's OTT prices for a reduction in features.

They mostly use LPDDR RAM, which is not upgradable. Even some laptops have the storage soldered to te motherboard. Your best chance is to get yourself a gaming laptop.

Prices are high and they rarely go down
Black Friday discounts are a joke
The computer i bought 2 years ago still costs the same
The iPhone 11 is still being sold for $800

You might get lucky if a store wants to get rid of a product so they do some insane discount but otherwise the prices stay the same atleast for 2 years
Europe is also extremely divided, the further you travel east, the poorer the countries get and the prices sometimes even get higher

That is why in EU better to buy A series or FE.
I bought S21 FE for 290 EUR month ago. Definitely a better buy here in EU than S22+ for 900 EUR.

From one of the most bought models, the regular S series, Sammy managed to totally screw it up by CONSTANTLY DOWNGRADING it:
                        - NO WQHD+ display with high density ppi
                        - NO SD CARD slot
                        - NO 3.5mm jack
                        - NO charger in the box
                        - NO wired headphones in the box
                        - NO UFS4
                        - NO 12-16GB RAM
                        - NO stainless steel frame
Why do you bother still making the regular S series Samsung? What's the difference between it and a mid-range wannabe like the FE?
I bet next year it will have plastic frame :))

Olympus Oms, 30 Jan 2023128? They mentioned 256 would be the new standard. ...now that I think about it you are right, a leak from Ahmed Qwaide a few weeks ago said that there was only going to be a 256GB option for the vanilla S23. Either that was fake, or the cat made a mistake again.

Should be this way - 8gb/256gb or 12gb/512gb or 16gb/1tb. I will wait for upcoming phones to get the last one. For laptop will go for 32gb/2tb. Impatiently waiting for that good day. Now using A52 with 8gb/256gb. Not bad. And a really old laptop which though unsupported hardware but runs windows 11 surprisingly well.

I'm starting to be fed up with the quote that everything in Europe can be more expensive compared to other markets. It's not only regarding this article but a general remark.
The times that they all quoted that Europe can take it is long gone (and has never been actually). Was it a kind of snobbery to claim that people in Europe are richer that all the rest? Duhhh, it has never been.
Coming back to this specific article I can somewhat understand that the vanilla version of the S23 is being "downgraded" of sorts as the A series looses it's A7x devices. In theory it is replaced by the FE editions of the "S" series but there was still a substantial difference in price between a A73 and a S21 FE for example. Maybe the FE's of the future will be priced more as a premium "A" series? Of course it makes no sense to offer a downgraded device at a higher price than it's predecessor.
