Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23+ arrive with new design, bigger batteries

01 February 2023
Samsung changed the styling of these two to match the Ultra. And no, there is no Exynos this year.

Does 2000Hz PWM anywhere confirmed?
It is nowhere mentioned....

Lack of LTPO still is a BIG bummer and not even keeping the display PPI in line with the smaller one by adjusting the resolution slightly, TOO MUCH of cost cutting by the lazy giant of a company. I'm probably skipping this one, the Iqoo Neo 6 is still quite fine with decent cameras. Let's wait for the OnePlus 11 and Xiaomi 13 Pro to come out.

That 48-120Hz figure is definitely not accurate. I have a Galaxy S22 and it goes down to 24Hz when showing static images or playing 24FPS videos. It can also do 30Hz when playing 30FPS video (this can be checked by enabling "show refresh rate" in the developer settings). So I'm pretty sure the range is actually 24-120Hz. I'm not sure why Samsung would deliberately show a worse figure that what their phone is actually capable of, but *shrug*.

I'm trading in an S21 FE, no enhanced credit though but I bought it used so it was cheap. I pre-ordered an S23+ in graphite. Picked up a case and wireless charger with the $100 credit.

Using Rakuten cashback 15% and Perkspot through my employer, it should cost about $700. Considering the specs and 512gb of storage, I'm pretty satisfied with the cost.

£950 for the 512GB S23+ is very pricy but not the worst case scenario. Glad about this release.

Just wanted to point out that I had a talk with Samsung Support and they said that the S23 series uses M12 panels for their displays (compared to the S22 series which used M10 on the base model and M11 on the Plus and Ultra). Obviously not a game changer, but it is nice that Samsung is using their latest panels this time at least.

What, 01 Feb 20238 bit display? Many chinese phones that claim native 10 are still doing the 8+2.
This applies to all phones using samsung screen.

Only LG, Boe and TCL make 10bit
