Sony Mobile is not doing well because all the "fans" that were praising and defending Sony are all just talk. Nobody actually is buying the phones.

Low cost phones does not help.
Even LG sold low cost phones expensive.
Brands like Oneplus, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Lenovo and Xiaomi for half price made twice as good phone as LG did.
In case of the Sony it will be same.
Sony cant sell cheap thus they slowly going to history books for once and for all.
I understands Sony is quality and i admit it but people nowdays wants best possible for lowest possible pricing.
Just like the Poco F1 of the old times. Most sold flagship grade device ever made or at last past 10 years,
Same goes for example for Redmi Note 8 pro which was most sold midranger phone of last 10 years.
As long as Sony will going to make 200 euros worth devices sold for 400 tey wont win on any market. Same goes for their said flagships where 900 maybe 1000 eur phone is sold for at least1500 or 1800 eur vendor dependable.
Same oes for many else very expensive brands.
All that matter is price. Every company would do better if they sell more phones cheaper than few phones way more expensive.

Offers are l... moreis it just me or does Sony marketing for its mobile division absolutely suck.... in the UK the adverts and marketing are basically non existent even when flagships come along, heck i mean their last few 1" sensor phones have basically slipped straight under the radar, and the only reason I know of them is because i follow these channels, and that was before the insane prices of those phones, needless to say that the sales of those devices absolutely tanked, well in the UK at least, cant speak for other countries

I wonder why mobile isn't doing so well...Let's see: Software really isn't great, phones overheat easily and the price tag is absolutely insane. But it's Sony, so not really a surprise there.

Nobody wants expensive phones other than Samsung Apple and Xiaomi. Enough to look at data like this.
Sony needs to bring back its low end phones and this could revive them. I love their low end phone from the Sony Ericsson era to 2014.
PlayStation is still selling well because everyone knows PlayStation.

Sony phones are not presented on many markets. Offers are limited by gray dealers with absolutely insane prices. No wonder that mobile division is not doing well. They need to find a way to supply devices even on markets where they don't present. Some people don't mind purchasing devices even without official repair center.
