[deleted post]My point is that they have prioritised their flagship just for their own countries and everything else, worldwide. I believe many people were ready to wait for X90 Pro+ international release even if would`ve been now. For me, X90 Pro+ was The Phone for the next 2 years if it was available in my country (UK) which is not. I believe many other people were in the same position and because of that, Samsung was the way (unfortunately)

aquint5554, 05 Feb 2023I hope the s24 keeps efficiency in mind and not just a benc... moreIf only somebody gave me a dollar for each cringe I got by reading SD Card. People just don't seem to be getting over the fact that the SD Card is NEVER coming back. There are faster, more efficient solid state technologies in place and it'll only get cheaper in the future, along with the propagation of the Cloud storage, the powers that be would NEVER let SD card come back.

          The Ultra is my choice

I hope the s24 keeps efficiency in mind and not just a benchmark flex phone. No one really cares for 60fps Genshin Impact. If the S22 was anything to learn from, Samsung needs to appeal to consumers overall needs and not just a niche gaming market. Also bring back the SD card, seperate yourself from Apple by offering more for the same price point. Miss the FE line but really should be it’s own SKU

AnonD-758491, 05 Feb 2023Vivo X90 Pro+ is far better than this samsung S23 series. ... moreVivo X90 Pro+ it is indeed a better phone. The only issue, like all the other Chinese flagships, it`s not available outside Mainland China which makes it useless specially with Origin OS. If would`ve have Funtouch or an option to convert, then would`ve been ok to just import the phone from China. Otherwise, Samsung leads the Android market outside China while Chinese brands are falling apart keeping the latest tech only in their country.

"There's a potential buyer for both new Galaxy S phones, but it certainly isn't the owner of their predecessors"

Very true, but sort of a non issue. Like who upgrades every year? If there's a prime example of wasting money in excess it's buying an upgrade every year. We collectively agree and make fun of people who upgrade to the latest car model after a year with the last years model, why not the same with phones?

In terms of a realistic upgrade, on average people upgrade every 5 years, so one should compare if the S23 series is an improvement of the Galaxy S9, which came out 5 years ago, in line with the average consumer who upgrades.

Vivo X90 Pro+ is far better than this samsung S23 series.
I Wanna have that Vivo X90 Pro+. Here I've have a perfect reason for my choice and it is that Vivo X90 Pro+ can perform more efficiently than Samsung S23 Ultra in all known segments.

Anton-, 05 Feb 2023sure you used a low range of 200 dollars that you say that!... moreiQoo Neo 6 (Current) - Funtouch 13, Android 13.
                      Vivo x70 pro (ex).

                      Not exactly 200$, mate ;)

It's certainly improved, no doubt. But still is quite half baked and I keep encountering minor bugs here and there. Not to mention the inexistent customization options, the Theme store is a joke of a store and the notification area is thoroughly half-baked.

JackDopey, 05 Feb 2023I know where you're coming from. But after using an Iq... moresure you used a low range of 200 dollars that you say that! I see very good reviews about fun touch! Obviously, it's not better than Samsung's One ui, but it's getting better

Anonymous, 05 Feb 2023Blablabla, i will go buy Vivo x90 Pro. 1300eur for S23U is ... moreI know where you're coming from. But after using an Iqoo and a Vivo phone, I will NEVER touch FunTouch EVER. If they merge code (very unlikely) with ColorOS, then we can think about it.

Just having cutting edge hardware is nothing impressive, until they can optimize it with functional, bug-free software that runs the entire show.

Ultra = Do whatever you want.

+ Models = Give it QHD + LTPO with similar Cameras as it has and a similar 4700-4900mAh battery.
If they do not want to keep it QHD, at the very friggin least, adjust the HD resolution to not drop the display PPI below what the vanilla S23 has and for heavens sake, improve the haptic motors. Also, if they're keeping the resoltution to HD, they can compensate by changing the 3X zoom to 5x, increases the value proposition of the Plus models tremendously. Also, it beats the entire purpose of launching a bigger phone while not matching the DPI that at least the smaller one has, lets not even compare the Ultra's 525 dpi.

Vanilla Models = Are good enough, just need slightly more battery and better haptic motors. The rated 3900mAh is still low, they should've copied the Pixel 7 and given it at least 4100mAh's to keep it comfortable and battery anxiety at bay.

Side Note: Samsung really need to come up with high quality tactile vibration motors, iPhones have taken the Taptic Engine game to another level altogether.

Life is simple man, people who wants to buy Samsung could buy samsung, and people who dont want it could buy other cheaper random brands.

                              Easy solution👍

Not to forget that UFS 4.0 on the S23 Ultra is 2x faster than the UFS 3.1 in the S22 Ultra and non-Ultra S23

The pricing of the S23 Ultra is TERRIBLE compared to S22 Ultra when it was introduced. I took advantage of the reservation last year and this year it cost twice as much! Last year I got a 1TB UNLOCKED (blue) S22 Ultra with a bundle offer of adding the new S8 Tab Ultra (128GB) and a free keyboard. There was a discount for early orders from $1599 to $999 then. They gave me $600 trade in for the S20 Note Ultra and after trade it cost me $1242 (with tax).

Using this S22 Ultra device to trade toward the S23 Ultra gave me only $500 trade and only $50 off the $1699 new list price. A difference this time of $1120 (before tax) and I didn't bundle anything more in because now it's more unaffordable.

THIS IS A HUGE "NO" and it seems someone at Samsung is smoking left handed cigarettes when they came up with pricing. With nice evolutionary improvements, not revolutionary, I will have to consider another year or switching brands. The value is supposed to be at the same level as last year, but it's actually about TWICE the price now. Forget that!!!

23+ model should have the same camera set-up as Ultra model. No stylus. And should keep its' size and shape. No ugly square cornered, fat shell for vanilla and plus model, please.
