Chromebooks still sale well,
they just came back to their normal market share after the pandemic.

Neverware's CloudReady (now known as ChromeOS Flex since Google officially bought Neverware in 2020) is based on ChromiumOS. But yeah, ChromeOS makes much better sense than Android since you still have Play Store support and the benefit of using a GNU Linux desktop software.

But if you talk about the screen size, then I can't really said 8" is a bad screen size. 8" screen size in tablet is same like

No surprise for me in terms of the Chromebooks: who would ever want to "upgrade" a dump device once they have one? All the improvements happen for the applications, in the cloud. Still am annoyed that they are used predominantly for educational purposes. I doubt most parents kunderstand the implications...

And as for building PCs - this was best shown with all projects for modular phones to be customized by users - all died even before entering the market, because no true buyers really wanted that.

The web browser experience on ChromeOS is superior compared to both Android and iPadOS. I use all of these operating systems honestly and the only one I really have a strong distaste for is iOS / iPadOS. Everything else is good and they each have their own merits. ChromeOS has a full featured browsing experience that runs circles around anything in the same price or spec class.

Like no one buys removable batt phones because 99.9999999% of the choices are sealed ones. Samsung released two in 2020 and 2022 with removable batt AND water resistance. But that would result in less foldable screen sales and they didn't want that.

Ps. Xiaomi has an old school android phone in China with a T9 keypad and it runs Android 11 o 12.

I can't see why there won't be people who want similar hardware/software customizability on their phone just like building PC. So a market for this will always be there.
Exactly, phones are tools, not toys. A tool should do it's job instead of being gimmick like modern "smart"phones and make mess with bloatware, ads and data theft.
