Apple apparently plans to limit iPhone USB-C functionality

Accessories not made by Apple and not in the "Made for iPhone" program could trigger warnings.

The new EU regs (when they come into force) require that the devices that support “fast charging” must support USB-PD.

That doesn’t mean that they cannot support other modes as well but I assume it will mean that “standard” high power USB-C chargers should work at fast (whatever they are) rates.

      on the side of Android, more flagship phones are following the Apple steps to remove basic hardware features and tell you to use wireless instead of keeping it for good.

              I have a lightning port "non authentic accessorie" (cable) and fast charging works just fine. And fast data transfer through lightning port doesn't exist, authentic or not...

That's why Oppo and OP needs to have thicker wired cables to carry as required for their high-current fast-charging spec.

Of course cables needs to be thickened wires inside to handle higher current but NOT just that.. The reason why usb-c was limited to 100W when was launched simply because connectors and ports has very tiny pins where high current can cause cable usb-c connectors or device usb-c ports to melt. So future usb-c with 240W support will must make connectors and ports more robust ad durable so thickening metal pins to handle power

                                OnePlus and Oppo phones bump up the voltage on their cables to allow the higher charging speed while minimizing heat levels. Not all cables are able to handle that voltage like you claim.
