Yet charge way more while savings millions on hardware, software, marketing, and release.

For now, they are only surviving. Resources-wise, I think it is a much more efficient way to deal with things, in this fierce competition. Sony seems to be on the right path.

Those who bought 1 iii/iv and 5iii/iv have lost. Those who still holding onto their 5ii have won, time for upgrade is soon with 5v. You've done well not "upgrading" to inefficient Samsung made processors and essentially same camera. Now you'll see the difference with 4nm TSMC chip and hopefully much better camera hardware.
I don't recommend 1 series.

the specs are still capable in even in 2023. its not like the device is gonna run like helio p35 after update. dont tell about custom rom, samsung devices are a pain in the ass when it comes to that
