Anonymous, 16 Feb 2023Its an entry level, not mid range. 8200 is midrange.Entry level?? There are Mediatek G25, G35, G37, G36 (brand new one launched just this week), Unisoc T606, 616 etc to cover the entry level. SD 680 should ideally be considered as entry-level, but unfortunately used in lower mid-range phones by the OEMs. Dimensity 7200 is well into the mid-rang zone, way above other SoCs (SD 680, SD 695, SD 4 Gen 1, MTK G99, Dimensity 700/810/900/920/1080), used in mid-range phones.

    YUKI93, 16 Feb 2023Finally, about time Mediatek built a new Dimensity chipset ... moreYou mean 7 Gen 1, not 6 Gen 1. It's a big difference. D7200 is above 7 Gen 1.

Finally, about time Mediatek built a new Dimensity chipset to rival the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. We already have the Dimensity 9200 going against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the Dimensity 8200 going against the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The only thing left is a brand new Dimensity SoC to rival Snapdragon 4 Gen 1.

this is going to be beast, where can you find Cortex A710 in the midrange? Midrange phones are getting better.

Anonymous , 16 Feb 2023Ok fine but it's an upgrade right? So should it be cal... moreNo. Clockspeed is lower. Also it using lesser GPU than 9200.

Might even beat 7+ Gen 1.

Hemedans, 16 Feb 2023I think its going to be upper Midrange between D1080 and D8... moreyep maybe for midrange.yes this killed sd 778 now just waiting for Qualcomm to respond and release it's proper midrange cpu

Its good soc Though, fitting successor to Sd 778G phones, Qualcomm need to respond.

Anonymous , 16 Feb 2023Ok fine but it's an upgrade right? So should it be cal... moreJust above the Snapdragon 7gen1 as per the news story. Not a 9200 replacement.

this will be above helio crap variant and below D8xxx variant this is best chip for low end phone sadly helio crap spammed market

Looks like a pretty impressive chipset and hopefully cheaper than D8200 otherwise seems redundant.
