Anonymous, 25 Feb 2023"It takes 5 minutes to remove the battery, 20 minutes ... moreGlad you asked. There would be less time then people like you would take to show some gray matter.

IpsDisplay, 25 Feb 2023A first generation sustainability product from a Collab wit... moreAgree, the only thing i do not like is that they did not do this with all their new devices, especially x30, a very missed opportunity.
But i very much like the direction they are going towards. The price hardware ratio should have been ditched long now. But well, there still are chinese "manufactureses" that have nothing else to sell. Performance is more then cpu and ram, and is the whole that connects them that matters most.

anonnn, 25 Feb 2023great idea, now if the specs weren't trash...Not like it costs 1000 euro

It's not sustainable if the SOC is absolutely unusable trash! The sooner hmd goes bankrupt the better

Lol @ PR stunt. Nokia's phone doesn't even have a removable battery. No open bootloader, no custom roms available for Nokia G series. This phone isn't worth more than $99.

great idea, now if the specs weren't trash...

A first generation sustainability product from a Collab with ifixit?

I'm gonna give this a thumbs up

Hopefully complainers of non removable batteries support this product and over time enables manufacturing of products like these to scale much larger and ultimately stabilize the price

The important thing is the first step

I'd ignore the usual spec to price ratio ma fia / c ult they are a threat to themselves because they believe in a monopoly in determining value of a product and they can't see long term implication /benefit in the diversity of products

Even if the price was similar they would still find a complaint anyways they'd probably want a 8 gen 2 and 240hz AMOLED for $150

Hopefully we get 2nd 3rf etc generations of this

Another notched device in 2023?! Come on HMD, you were able to produce phones with hole punches three years ago. And also, a Unisoc chipset?! Smh

It's a step in the right direction, but for a more sustainable phone I'd sooner have a Pinephone pr for decent performance a Pinephone pro. Also I'd be getting a pure Linux device with a good number of options for the OS.

Why'd I want repairability for the most disposable phone ever? The phone right outta the box is a heap of Ewaste, ain't nobody looking for sustainability of say..the battery, cus prettymuch all else by then is going to be more than inadequate at that point.

No phone after mid december should ship with previous android.

Unisoc 🤢 that phone will be outdated and slow very soon so what's the point in it being repairability friendly?
